Winded Voyage | Season 2 | Trailer
Hello fellow Winded Voyagers.
Since I've been living on Galopin, I've explored the North Eastern coast of Spain and the far reaches of my electrical system. I experienced a motor failure at sea leading to a port entry and docking under sail. Had my anchor slip in a storm during in the darkness of night. A Spanish coast guard night patrol control while sailing the coast. Port maneuvers in Barcelona's city center both a night and daytime. Sailing solo for over 400 nautical miles in two weeks. As well as the twisting confusing arteries of Galopin's electrics.
You'll meet my latest co-star "Bix" who made me laugh and gave me true lessons in sailing. A southern Frenchman that has a love of aventure and a gift of gab with a most delightful accent.
It will take me some time put the next episodes together as I'm living Galopin's belly which is undergoing significant changes. Another co-star Daniel, is working with me to get Galopin up to speed and code. We've torn up the insides to rip out useless wiring so we can accommodate new pumps, circuit board and a navigational system. As well as setting up new reef and halyard rigging leading to the cockpit. Essential changes I understood I needed the hard way during my trip along the Spanish coast.
So in this trailer for Winded Voyage Season 2, you'll see a recap at how I've gotten here so far and quick look at what will be coming up next.
Thanks for all you're help. It's going to go into some serious boat improvements and storytelling time. You are the best!
Alex

Alex - thanks - really appreciate the tips !! Our videos from our africa overland trip were voiced in my office and have an echo. So your head wrapping is a good one. I am in the process of signing up for lessons and it's the Cape Town boat show this weekend, so off to see some toys and hopefully tap into the local 2nd hand boat sails market plus the sailing school is at the bottom of my road at home so very convenient. If you ever come to Cape Town and then head up the coast, 100km north is Langebaan where we live. It's famous for its 13km lagoon and natural harbor. It's also where we plan to learn and get on the water. Your totally right - experience counts for everything. Any tips on royalty free music backing tracks? Hoping to meet the Delos guys in December as they are making their way to Cape Town for a stop over. Looking forward to your next videos! Regards - Nick and Vick
Hi Alex - came across your site and watched series 1 - inspirational and like your style. My wife and I are embarking on a similar journey and from an even lower starting point sailing wise, but the spirit and intention is the same. Hope to be able to meet one day on the ocean some where. Ciao for now Nick & Vicki
Hi Nick & Vicky. Thanks for watching. It's been quite an adventure so far. I'm really happy to have gone trough all the sailing education. But there is nothing like the real thing to really learn the ropes. I just got back from a solo trip down the coast of Spain with a friend also solo in his boat. He was in a sense my guardian angel, as we went through some pretty interesting sailing. He made fun of me when I followed him with three reefs in 20kts of wind on the first day. Then with his help, new found confidence, and no reefs, he gave me respect when I hoisted my spinnaker alone on the last day. As well as when I brought it down alone when the wind reached 20kts and changed direction. As he said in French, "Chapeau au Suisse" (hats off to the Swiss:-)This will all be featured on upcoming episodes I'm working on. Best to you, and hope to meet as well! Alex.
