Episode 23 | The Island Effect
Hello Winded Voyagers!
Unfortunately we must leave the island of Santa Luzia and head East to the island of São Nicolau. There we explore the town of Tarafal and meet a jolly Italian who shows us his house. We get blown around with sudden gusts that flip over my dinghy and outboard engine.
We then set off in the middle of the night to sail back to Sao Vicente. Why do we sail at night, because generally the wind conditions are milder. Which is kinda hard to tell at first. But the wind settles and we sail on beating into the wind. We get a close call of the jagged shore in order to get past the northern most point of the island and make it back just before Carnaval in Mindelo.
Thanks for keeping this series going. Could not do it without you. Big hugs, Alex.

You have to give love to Nat when she says, "Moi, je préfère la vie sur un bateau".
Always a relief when the anchor holds steady in a blistering wind.
