She Takes Me Deep Into The Casamance River Delta | This Is Sailing Senegal, West Africa | S7 Epsd 25
The Casamance region of Senegal is truly special. Better yet, it's magic. Little known to many but well traveled mostly by French sailors. I was told by a few of it's "magic", but could never have imagined the magical feeling of the place. You have to be there. In the islands of the delta. This video is just the beginning of the time I spent there with Mana, my guide and muse.
This is how I like to experience a place I sail to. Meet a beautiful local to show you around. In this case she's Black Little Red Riding Hood. But first I test to see if Mana like being aboard Galopin to go places. So we go explore the nearby mangrove watery labyrinth. Where we are a little freaked out. Mana passed the test, Galopin likes her. We sail down river and get ambushed by a gang of dolphins. We can feel them push the boat. And we finally anchor in the dark of the night in the bend of a tributary. We’re greeted by a Frenchman who takes us to the bush bread baker. And then a settlement where we can get wifi. Even at night, Mana finds the key to the trail and leads us in her bright red dress.
Much love from Casamance
