Feature Prioritization Feedback
Hello dear supporters. The Foundry VTT project continues to progress amazingly well, but there is still a lot of work to do! There are many major features I hope to develop before the target version 1.0 release in January of next year.
I would like to conduct a poll to help understand which features are ones that players, DMs, and module authors would find to be the most valuable for you and your game sessions.
Please note, this is by no means a complete list of features which will be added in the coming months. As always, refer to GitLab ( https://gitlab.com/foundrynet/foundryvtt/issues ) to see the full backlog of features and work-in-progress.
Please vote for up to three of the following options which you would find the most valuable. The intention is not to choose what to do, and what not to do - but rather to help define the priority and ordering of features. I expect all of these features will be implemented eventually! Additionally, please share any thoughts you have in the comment section below and consider joining the discussion in Discord, and stay tuned later this week for the upcoming Beta 0.3.8 release!
Thanks everyone,
Andrew

So while I get the popular vote method, I figured I'd throw something out there: most of Free League's material uses dice pools ;) Would be nice for the functionality!
Any wild hints about what you're already planning for 3.8?! I'm literally on the edge of my seat over it. I love your program so much! So glad my group switched over last week!
Hey Joe, I'm thrilled to hear you're enjoying it. You can actually follow along with what I'm working on for each update here (https://gitlab.com/foundrynet/foundryvtt/-/milestones/). Take a look at the 0.3.8 milestone to get a sense for some of the things that are coming up. Probably the biggest "shiny" feature in 0.3.8 is limited light emission angles for Tokens and Ambient Light sources. I hope that is something folks will find to be an exciting addition!
So hard to choose out of these...
I'd really like more documentation how to use the framework. How do I add another dice type? How do I format window section? etc.
Thanks for that feedback, I acknowledge that the current documentation is inadequate, and I hope I can make that a big priority to improve before the full launch. I'll be really doubling down on the API documentation once I start working on the official website.
I am assuming contested dice rolls would be like being able to attack with a save roll, and prompt the target to roll the dice automatically?
Correct, contested rolls would allow for one player to initiate a roll which requires some other player to roll also, for example in D&D an Athletics contest or Deception vs. Insight
Dice roll targets is easily the best QOL feature than can't be outsourced to something else (like rollable tables) please consider it foundry !!!
Definitely! It's going to happen, just a question of when :)
