I Fear the Day it is Enough

Ya know... They made it illegal to give people water while they were crossing the desert a while back. Now it's illegal to give water to people standing in lines to participate in democracy, because they've made the lines so long, people need food and water to stand in them. Tomorrow they'll be talking about Jesus and what is or isn't Christian, buttressed by the defenses of making it illegal to give water to people who need it.

A whole lot of folks are so used to being comfortable and safe, they're not going to realize what is going on until they're not safe anymore, and by then, it's too late, because everyone else will still be sure they're safe. Just because you're next on the chopping block doesn't mean people are going to wake up. 18 months ago, they were telling Black people they should be more like Asian people, and now, they're telling Asian people to stop complaining.

Tens of thousands lynchings happened in this country, and not a single one was legal, even when law enforcement was participating, which was more often than a lot of folks want to believe.

But the NYT, The Atlantic, WaPo and every other "objective" outlet in the country is going to keep running columns and stories about "cancel culture" and a "border crisis," like any of that shit is any more real than lizard people running the world, and printing the claims of all these fascists pushing this blatantly absurd bullshit, without treating them like they're fascists.

You're watching some Jim Crow shit be reinstated, in 2021. You can't really claim this is a democracy as you're watching this happen, but I'm sure plenty of people will. 

Asian folks are terrified and angry and when they say so, they get targeted for abuse, harassment and death threats. Black folks are terrified and angry and when they say so, they get targeted for abuse, harassment and death threats. Jews are terrified and angry and when they say so, they get targeted for abuse, harassment and death threats. Women are terrified and angry and when they say so, they get targeted for abuse, harassment and death threats. Immigrants from Central and South America, Africa and other countries are terrified and angry and when they say so, they get targeted for abuse, harassment and death threats. Half a million people dead, because the fascists basically said, "Fuck it. Who cares?" and the people who are trying to keep more people from dying are getting targeted with abuse, harassment and death threats.

Amazingly, it's not enough. I'm terrified to find out how far it all has to go before we get to the day that is finally enough.
