School of Lust Announcement (Update #3)
Hi everyone!
It's been over a week since our last update on the progress of ongoing changes to School of Lust, due to Patreon contacting us recently.
Let me get straight to the point, the revised version of the protagonist (in our last post) was not accepted by Patreon either. They wanted more! More muscles! Broader shoulders! Smaller head! More usage of steroids and other performance enhancing drugs! Okay, that last one I just made up.
While these changes were going to sway from our original concept of the character, an awkward slender young man, we decided to do as we were told, as we were very curious to see how far this will go. We sent the following revised version for review on Thursday (we changed him back to shorts, so his shin is visible):
Today, we receive a reply that (and you guessed it!) the character still doesn't look old enough. Patreon requested even broader shoulders, a more defined jaw line and even an Adam's apple. And that's not an exaggeration, but the exact reply we received.
Patreon wants a Jock (or maybe a world champion power-lifter), while the main character isn't supposed to be one (at least not at the start of the game), or maybe they're using the characters in Dream Daddy as reference point, but it doesn't matter, we're at a point that changing the main character even more will no longer fit the narrative.
We're giving this one last go. If he still doesn't get accepted, we may be forced to announce our future plans.

lol i dont think i would mind JoJo or Kenshin of the North Star for our MC
well i have to say that it exist alot of regular games that have people that are 18+ and not very tall, check out all anime series that exist they too have their own design and those characters can be small as shit but who am i to judge

Well for me the original was ok lol i prefer you make other sex scene then updating something thats already ok.
freaking censorship, ruins the freedom of expression or freedom of your art/game. To me Patreon will lose a good portion of their erotic creators if they keep up this no tolerance policy.
Do not let Patreon decide how your game should be! If possible, look for another site or make your own website, I mean you should have enough money to do it ?!

This isn't the SOL that I know anymore. If the gls have to change as well I have to say I'm out :/ The game was good as it is but this is to much. Why is Patreon destroying everything I love here lately??? -.-
Like Seb said you could try writing it in that he never had his growth spurt allthough I'm certain you already thought of that.
Honestly, just send them some pictures of 18 year old boys. They all still look like absolute children unless they hit an early puberty

Patreon kicked off subverse and that game made 1 million dollars do not bend to Patreon changing your artistic vision and if they kick you off tear them a new asshole over censorship
Thus another game shall be ruined by this company's rules look I been around Patreon and follow some good creators for a good amount of years and every time Patreon had a problem with a creator's content they make them change it so much that they had to redo the whole game that it's become dull and not fun anymore or completely cancel and drop the whole project all together thus all of that creator's time and hard work wasted for nothing while putting them in a state of depression (mild to high depending on how much time and effort was poured into the development) so in my own opinion this is a really well thought out and develop game idea that I would love to see completed in the future while still having the creator's ideal image/wishes and not Patreon's so I'm hoping we can push through this and get back to playing this amazing game also if anyone agrees or disagrees with me leave a reply with your own opinion on this matter
Definitely a bad sign for Patreon in general. If it really comes down to this I intended on dropping Patreon entirely and doing what I can do supporter the developers I enjoy seperate of Patreon.
How about making him taller but more gaunt? Like the lanky nerdy type? Long skinny limbs and a thin neck that still has an Adams apple? It will still take him further away from the anime protagonist type you're going with now, but it will still fit the awkward nerdy type, and can maybe exagerate some of the features that make him look like an adult without making him like like Flash Thomson. You could also use it to highligt the difference bwtween the protagonists two modes by making the alter ego more physically imposing. I know it's going to make him looke more like a western cartoon like character, but this is only a suggestion, after all
Well, you could always try a Steam release, they support "In development" adult games now. It's what "The Last Sovereign" ended up going partially with. Granted, you lose the monthly paycheck in favor of a one-off payout, but you could always work out something with DLC, I suppose. You have enough mini-games you could probably spin them off as DLC stat-boosters. Say, game is 5 bucks, but for an extra buck or two you could get the "Sports Games software" DLC for your computer, that lets you earn effort by spending an hour per game on the computer at home playing: Hurdles, Basketball, and any other mini sports game you think of. Bonus is you get several games in before the time of day changes over to earn Effort increases, but you don't earn the relationship bonus you would doing these normally during the day. I just blew like $200 on the Golden Week sale, so I know Steam can do adult type games now.
Hi Rafael! Steam is definitely an option we've been considering, if this situation with Patreon goes nowhere. DLC isn't going to be an option though, especially for an Early Access game, but I really appreciate the suggestion. Cheers! -Lawina
Why is patreon attacking all my favorite creators! I want patreon to pay the creators and fans for wasting the time, effort and money put into these amazing works.
Is there anything we can do as fans to help you guys out? Is there an email we can use to contact Patreon to tell them to leave your teams creative vision alone(or send cringey videos)?

This is ridiculous. The story definitely doe not support what they want. Absolutely love SoL thus far, probably the best i've played.
patreon leave the game alone. after all one of the first things you see is a big disclaimer stating that the characters in the game are 18+ hell i'm 20 ish years old and 1. i'm a very narrow guy 2. for my age people who don't know me think i'm 16 or 15 when i have no facial hair 3. the only guys who actually have defined muscles ether A. are genetically gifted B. exercise regularly or C. Photoshop'ed themselves

This is getting annoying. The first one looked like me and I'm 23. Is my body type not valid because I'm 5'2"? Am I not able to consent to sex because I'm not a marble crafted 6' Adonis? patreon im feeling very offended now.
As long as the narrative says or you give the "everyone depicted in this game is over 18" memo Patreon needs to back the fuck off. Your making the game not them. smh
