School of Lust v0.2.2 Progress Report (July)
Hi everyone!
It has been a while since our last progress report, as we've had a "bit" of a setback the past week or two. We were waiting to resolve the issue, before posting a new progress report for School of Lust, so this short post will be about what happened and what took so long to resolve the issue.
School of Lust is (as far as we know) the first game to ever implement native animation technology (Live2D) with our game engine (RMMV). The problem we were having was that, as we've hired a new artist to help us with the animations for certain H-scenes, his work was not compatible with our heavily modified game engine. As stupid as we are, we did not test the animations right away either, as we expected it to work (although it wouldn't have made a difference, as the artist only works with the newer animation technology). Exporting the animations for an older build did not resolve the issue either, so we ended up having to modify the game engine again, which is what took this long to resolve.
Now that the issue has been resolved, we're working non-stop to implement the new animations and release the new update as soon as possible. We're only a few tasks away from releasing the beta, so we're going all out to do our best to release the new update before the end of the month.
We'll post again soon with details on what is included in the next update; and thereafter.

Hi there, just a patreon supporter wanting to give some advice and make a request. You guys make an amazing quality game but when it comes to keeping your patrons (primary financial support for the games production) updated as to what is going on, recently your performance has been "lacking" to say it nicely. If you guys are running into problem after problem that is slowing you down I think the whole community would rather you spent 10 min writing a quick 100 word update than going silent for nearly 2 weeks around the next estimated release. You guys should be updating your patrons on the progress and happenings at least once a week. Even if that means the update being brief or not having its own unnecessary artwork. At this rate one may aswell subscribe for one month for the update and then come back after 3 months for the next one. The only customer benefit to supporting in the downtime when no updates are released is being closer to the devs through the process. This just isnt worth it if you only reach out 2-3 times a month...
Ladicus has a point, devs. You have been nearly radio silent for awhile concerning progress, and even the tasks bar hasn't been updated in a little over a week. I think everyone here would appreciate communication. And while you do reply to comments every so often, it would be better if we had weekly updates as to how bad things are. After all, this post originally said you'd have the beta for 2.2 up 'within a few hours' (which I'm guessing you guys edited out to cover your butts when someone brought it up) and now we have literally no news as to what's going on. You delay things but then you don't tell anybody it's delayed. For those of us who're here every day looking for the next build, radio silence doesn't give a good impression.
Are there still any problem? Or do you guys just want to finish it in one go? (the update bar used to be update every 2/3 days and now another 9/10 days without anything, just go worried a bit)
Quick question it says things are still locked and to download the latest from Patreon is this correct ? Is the date and talk options just not finished yet ? Also is it safe to assume the dungeon isn’t fully complete as well ? Or is the download corrupt somehow ?
Question when do you think the update will be ready? hopefully by August sometime...

I love this game and I can not wait for the next version. Big applause for the creators of this game that they put in so much work to finish it

Hey guys, first of all I want to say that I love the potential of this game and it really feels engaging as well as being visually pleasing! Just a quick question though, will the swing scene #4, with Violet, be animated in the coming future? I’m just asking because the scenes with Natalie are mostly animated and it feels kinda’ weird to see static scene all of the sudden. Anyways, keep up the good work and I’m looking forward to the coming update! :)
Hi Zewrath! Thank you so much for your kind words! Due to how time consuming it is to animate the scenes, and the many scenes we're planning to add, we've had to mix it up a little (between static and animated). I can't really promise at the moment if the static scenes will be animated in the future, but it is definitely a possibility. It will be later down the road though. Cheers =)
Yay problem solved now, back to the F5 sect, hopefully we'll get the game before august >< (i'm secretly praying for more Violet scene :D)
I know quality takes time so I'm just glad you guys are back.
