Anime/Manga only here. It feels to me from the interactions we’ve already had with the beast kin there is a decent amount of emphasis on strength to determine one’s position socially. After Rudy demolished them in combat they were already submissive to him. Kinda similar to how Gyes and the guard rolled on their back and exposed their bellies expecting “punishment” from Rudy. Cats and dogs usually tussle and determine the alpha. Alpha can do what they want afterwards and the rest follow. A bit of human nature comes out in the “dating and marriage come first” thing, but they basically determine he is worthy of becoming their spouse because of his strength. Rudy is in the wrong for sure, beating them in a fight was all he really had to do to earn their respect. Same with Fitz, the girls were haughty and rude when told off by Fitz until Rudy put his foot down and they instantly submitted.

This episode was genuinely funny to me, like, i physically laughed. Who knew that rare comedy in a anime with characters i care about, in a world i care about, in a story i care about could work? :o
I really like how you mull on the fact that Rudeus can spread revolutionary arcane practices. Remember, he is a student now. Becoming a professor is always an option :)

no spoilers, but if you prefer not to know about any LN comparisons, then disregard. A bunch of random (maybe)useless info on this episode: That attack that Rudy prevented Pursena from using was a roar. We saw Linia's dad Gyes use it to stun Rudy. The beast folk in this world seem to give off subservient, domesticated traits like pets. For example, the beast gals were beaten by Rudy, so they default to calling him boss, and Gyes lay on his back and showed his belly to Rudy to apologize for falsely accusing him. Bad dog! That pillow that rattles is a Japanese style pillow Rudy made because the noise soothes him, kind of like how some people prefer some subtle background noise when they go to sleep. Also, the line about Linia not being able to speak proper human tongue was rewrittten way spicier in the anime than it was in the LN. At least the folks on Xer will have something to talk about this week.
