Jujutsu Kaisen S3 Episode 4 Early Access - Kick-off

There's another big lair of symbolism that will fly over most people who don't follow JJK in Japanese. The title of this episode is "perfect preparation" because that's kind of the meaning, but the title is a Japanese idiom. It literally means to carry a reed in your beak. It comes from an old Buddhist (I think) story about how wild gees prepare for migration. Because they need to fly over the oceans they take a reed with them so they can rest on it floating on water (which doesn't really happen, but that was the belief). You probably noticed a lot fo shots of birds flying away in formation. When Mai creates the weapon, in the dream she gives her a piece of grass that's meant to be that preverbial reed. So basically, Mai is Maki's reed and thanks to her, Maki is perfectly prepared for her fight. WIthout Mai, Maki has no more connection to cursed energy and her heavenly restriction becomes as perfexct as Toji's.
