Gundam - Char's Counterattack

before watching: no idea whether you'll like it or not, I do, but I know some don't, can't blame you if it's not your cup of tea. Anyway, either way, I hope it's entertaining to watch (rewatch for me) with you, so let's start, and I'll comment for real later! (I don't think the reaction is public on yt yet? so because I patreon for month for some Vinland eps, I'll watch this here, too :D hope to have fun)

I remember liking this movie well enough when I first watched it but watching it again I've come to like it so much more. It probably helps that I've seen zeta and zz now which really informs a lot of stuff I think in this movie. I'm sure you've already been told about this but should you return to gundam in the future and want to know what the future holds for Hathaway in particular the movie Hathaway's Flash is truly excellent.

Now that you've finished the big 3 and CCA, you can basically go anywhere you want in the Universal Century from here. Any side stories, OVA's, or far-flung sequels are fair game.

The perfect way to start my day.

Ah hell, I checked in here randomly before heading to bed, wasn't expecting this. It's 3am here, I can't watch this now, but I want to so much. Why didn't I check in five hours ago? Ah well, it'll still be a great watch in a few days I'm sure. Thanks for getting this far, it's been a great ride, and you've provided wonderful insight throughout.

Jackson Tyler of the Great Gundam Project podcast has a really great review of this on letterboxd, with this really good concluding text: "when aurora hits and we've witnessed a miracle, the ambivalence of the camera as it cuts between a broken hathaway, a lonely bright, a hopeless nanai and blighted earth is overwhelming. i will cry every single time and that is a promise. the warmth of the human heart can bend the stars itself but it cannot stop a single peasant from starving. you must understand that amuro! don't you see char? that's why! - an argument never resolved before it is washed away in flame. for the survivors, only silence."

Sorry Tee, you've posted a wetransfer link in place of pixeldrain
