Need your feedback on this Pinup Edit!
Hey all! I recently shot with this photographer Doug Stidham - He sent me some unedited and edited shots from our pinup shoot. He works directly with Robert Alvarado and wants to emulate his style! Did he do a great job or what? If you have feedback, you can leave it in the comments.
Pinup style photography is intended to have a "fantasy babe" vibe to it, it's supposed to look polished and perfect and sexy! I personally like how he saturated the colors, but does my ass look too different?

Essentially in the drawing like style this works. Giving the photo more pop with contrast & saturation all good. Though I think butt changes were excessive & unnecessary. Has spoilt the lines & form in your pose seen in photo. If anything, I suggest softening the crease between right butt cheek & thigh by lightening it's shadow & adding a little emphasis to butt shape by again adjusting/feathering light & shadow strength. Just as you have foot people, I'm sure you butt followers. I'm more light & form with trim elegance so I suppose I'm harder to please 💃🙏
Overall. I think he makes you look even better (something I would NOT have thought possible). However, I find the shadow very distracting, as it appears ridiculously foreshortened. It keeps drawing my attention away from you, which is a shame.
I like his edit. Definitely has pin-up style. I can't see any material difference the two photos of your butt. Other than the change in contrast, it's the same shapely butt in both images.
Background clean up is nice. The shadow struck me as a little sharp and thus a little odd. Good contrast, good saturation and the red soles are nifty. My taste has it a little dark overall. Perhaps 10-15% lighter. Neck lines minimized, hmmm okay. (I'd have left them.) Chin non-separation is what it is. Yes a PS whiz could 'fix' it but it's fine being even. But did they HAVE to plump up your already perfect behind?
It does look dark compared to the original but I also think the "raw" file might look desaturated because it wasn't JPEG when I downloaded it. You're right about the shadow!
I am a fan of this style of edits. Especially when you are the model. The edited line under the right butt cheek looks a bit unnatural. I’d like to see it left the way it was. Just my two cheeks… umm… I mean, two cents. Love the rest of it though. 🏆💐

The color saturation really brings out some definition in some areas. I thank they are both awesome though.

Yes your ass does look different (heavier shadow and slight deviation in shape on right side) but its fine and fits the pinup style.
the heavy shadow might be a bit too much
I agree with you in the color saturation, but I would dial back the contrast so your perfect ass is not so deeply shadowed.

He's done a good job of accenting the natural curves with shading. Very fantasy babe vibe.

They both remind me of a Vargas pinup pose and actual feel, probably because I grew up in the 60s-70s. The red Louboutin soles on the right pumps are a nice touch, do guys realize those are a grand? If I had to pick one and one only I'd still go with they one on the left, doesn't feel forced, more natural as far as color.
yeah i like what he did to my shoes too! I think it's supposed to look intentional with the editing enhancements, not meant to look "natural" - just as the vargas girls were a bit supernatural!
They both look good i would have colored the heel bottoms to mats your outfit but both are great
