Agreed completely about the discourse at the beginning. Good writing is supposed to make us uncomfortable sometimes. That's how creators challenge us to think about things in new ways. "Empire's a hell of a drug" indeed, and it bears repeating. (Also, since you mentioned wanting to watch the campaign, I'd actually recommend checking out EXU: Calamity first. It's only 4 episodes long, so it's a lot more digestible, and it's hailed as one of the best things Critical Role has ever put out, if not THE definitive best. It's also where the pirate character in this episode, Nydas Okiro, and the demon lord from Season 3 of Vox Machina, Xerxus, come from. I'd recommend checking out "Exandria: An Intimate History | Narrated by Matthew Mercer", but that's the only info you'll need going in.)
You guys should watch a show called primal i think yall would like it
This show is so f'in good man.
It’s a very small detail in the shows, but if you go back and watch the second episode of season 1 of Vox Machina, you’ll see the same book that Jester picks up: Tusk Love. It was put in as an Easter egg in Gilmore’s Glorious Goods in Vox Machina because at the time they didn’t know if they’d get to make this show, but campaign 2 is where Tusk Love (which is now a real book you can buy in real life) came from originally.
