One day you guys have gotta talk about the South-East Queensland council of mayors deciding that the only shared plan (at the moment) for regional transport during the 2032 Brisbane olympics is “battery powered air taxis” Like Brisbane just also spent the cost of a light rail system on battery powered electric buses that the mayor is calling a “metro” to run on the already existing bus rapid transit and claiming it’ll change transport forever despite no new areas receiving coverage, these councils are ripe for scrutiny and no-one in this city has a podcast (there’s more than anti-hoon laws I swear!)

idk about other countries but they do enforce that drug law in jamaica - i renewed my US visa there this year and multiple people in the room with me had their immigrant visa apps rejected bc they failed their drug tests (all because of weed). but it's not like insurmountable, they just make you do a twelve step programme and retest you in a year. i only know this because there's zero privacy in those visa interview rules, they're essentially playing all the convos out over loudspeaker
