The Four Traffic Diversions of the Apocalypse feat. QAnon Anonymous
It's the (late) free one!
This week, Riley, Hussein, and Alice join Annie and Julian from the QAnon Anonymous podcast to discuss the recent ecumenical freakout protests in Oxford on the topic of ‘15 Minute Cities.’ Annie was there interviewing participants—she managed to find the one person who was just there because of traffic concerns—and witnessed what appears to be a nascent reactionary resistance movement fighting in favor of climate change? Or something like it.

I am so sad to be on the late bus here, commenting after the fact and all that but here in Tennessee the Lt. Governor’s seat accumulated fucking ridiculous powers over the 40+ year term of the motherfucker who sat in it before him. What I’m saying is this guy isn’t just a doddering, gin-faced shitwhistle waiting for a piano to drop on Bill Lee…he’s a doddering, gin-faced shitwhistle who is actively trying to kill women by blocking any abortion concessions at all. I think they’re maybe working on something now, at long last. Anyway fuck that guy.
some damn good points made
I've lived my whole life in Texas and in several places that I've lived people are extremely against making neighborhood sidewalks. For example, where my mother lives (small town of 25k), the last time the city council talked about new sidewalks there was a disruptive council meeting and they didn't do it. Anyway, she lives in a hilly neighborhood and it would be nice for people to walk on sidewalks instead of in the streets. People really get their noses out of joint over this, way beyond other things (like more school taxes); I've never really understood it. But maybe it's just one step too far into commie/socialism than people can stand ::shrug::.
O no I'm the dead guy who only listens to tf on 20 min bike journeys
Liked Raaleh's suggestion that fears over, say, the 'freezer meat police' being repressed guilt over the hyperobject of catastrophic climate change. Any place I can read more about that angle?
One thing that all these nazi comparisons do for me as a Jewish man is make me significantly less sympathetic to even the potentially legitimate grievances of these sad weirdos
What's funny is that if you sum over all the Q-inflected fears, the most terrifying place in the universe is Jackson Heights, Queens
No way did you get Zizek on for a book club?!
klaus schwab and his mischievous dog switched the road signs and sent me crashing into a ravine
Not related to the ep at all, but NPR’s interview with Barney Frank re:SVB is extremely funny & has “old man yells at the internet” energy https://www.npr.org/2023/03/13/1163164107/former-congressman-barney-frank-on-silicon-valley-bank-collapse
Barney Frank looked disgusting--nipples protruding--in his blue shirt before Congress. Very very disrespectful imo
Like a couple years back, Riley appearing on QAA made me sub to TF. Huzzah!
Amazing ep btw
No moan... Sadge. This is the future the WEF wants for podcasts. You will eat the twinks, live in a moan less podcast, and you will only listen to the 15 minute podcast
I wanted an SVB episode…

IF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE BANS ME FOR POSTING AT THE TWINKS I WILL FACE GOD AND WALK BACKWARDS INTO HELL -Randy McNally Also, does this work?: Randy McNally, inventor of the GPS
Alice is extremely right about the medals thing, think about how people talk about The War. if lockdown had been mythologised it would have been so much better, if at the end of it we'd all been congratulated and thanked and a big number of how many lives each person sitting at home saved
True enough. However, nations seemingly only have room for a couple of mythologies, and ours are filled with The Blitz, Dunkirk Spirit and other misremembered fairy tales.
FAMOUSLY the nazis made it so that people couldn't drive cars. google "autobahn" and "volkswagen" to learn more about those heinenous laws
If Mr Beast is Climate Stalin does that mean Beastburgers are made of bugs?
"Get yourself an extra Covid" lol
I'm a massive Ban All Cars-style NUMTOT and I think this movement is pretty scary but one thing that's also insanely frustrating is how earnest the Davos set is at sabotaging every like good and necessary resource conservation effort you could possibly think of and have done in a really annoying and clumsy way for *for ever*. Promoting soft vegetarism slash ways of eating that aren't just steak and potatoes at every meal, phasing out Jeffersonian land home-ownership as the way every is supposed to life, encouraging people to get out and take a walk or even ride a bike and have the infrastructure to do so, replacing oil-burning airplane and car trips with electric trains, and reconsidering the idea that consumerism is the only way to self-fullfillment are all things we should be basically heading towards if we want to avoid living in a parking lot with flooding and a garbage patch on it within 50 years, *in the abstract* but then the big private plane guys, the big austerity guys, they just have to have their "we're gonna have to cut your wage" conference at the same place and time as the "look at the end of the day ground crickets taste and feel the same as hotdog sausage, you wouldn't even notice" guys and the "my daughter have been turned into chunky marinara by a speeding SUV and I would like to somewhat mitigate this" are in the same room as the "you have to turn down your thermostat just an extra 4 or 5 degrees this winter, and we're sorry it's not our fault I promise" people I would actually like to be able to disagree with every single position that Bill Gates has but the problem is that it results in something that is actually clinically insane
I googled Lt Gov McNally and Google told me - people also search for Cameron Sexton *name alert klaxon goes off again*
It seems that the Murdock muck machine is taking the britishness out of the British and making richest/dumbest into Americans
UK: actually it's legal to run over protestors as long as your Range Rover is white enough US: actually it's legal to unload a full 9mm mag out the windshield if you were cut off enough
That pro-fossil fuels guy who did the Joe Rogan circuit years ago was Alex Epstein.
I will be listening to the pod while attending The Ashes after the World Economic Forum turned London into a 15 minute city and eliminated my podcast commute. (Actually it's so I don't have to listen to Australians.)
