XP Grinding at the Spreadsheet Factory

It's the free one! And it's out very early!

This week, Riley, Hussein, Nate and Alice discuss the cost-of-living crisis in Britain as seen through trade periodicals for grocers and the growing sentiment among the police (yes! Even among the British police!) that shoplifting to survive shouldn’t be punished. We also discuss new developments in the endless hackathon purgatory of the crypto world, where they want to make everything you’ve ever done in your working life tied to your identity, on the blockchain.

"Come together, bottom up" sounds more like a grinder bio and less like a philosophy of a new society, although I'd be down to visit block chain grinder town, wait, no, that sounds seriously like it would get problematic very fast...

So basically Web 3.2 is the attempt to create a Social Credit Score but on the Blockchain to replace the regular Credit Score that pretty much works like a Social Credit Score anyway. Very Cool.

I recently rewatched Jack reacher , which is a mediocre movie alright, a bit liberal with the bits of police bad.... And theres a dialog there about the kinds of people that joins the army: the patriots, the ones who just want a salary and the ones who want to legally kill people. Turns out, police can be the exact same thing. The guardians who want to protect , the clerks who want a paycheck. and the ones who want to be enforcing things with force.

The Black Parade was a good album, but the Helvetii had banger albums of their own! Origins charted in 9 countries (and twice in Belgium!) and charted at number 1 on the US Heat Charts. The Call of the Mountains absolutely matches up with Welcome to the Black Parade as earworms that will not go away no matter how hard you try. Sure, there's a 2000 year gap between the subjugation of the Helvetii and the emergence of said banger albums, but these days there's a 2000 year gap between one Monday and the next!

I also am grateful for all my cringy shit in my local high-school newspaper and early 1.0 internet forums being lost. People change. I feel like newer generations will be quite screwed with this.

Ditto. That said, it was funny as hell when the Jacobin dredged up Pete Buttigieg's high school peaen to Bernie Sanders as a "Profile in Courage".

When I was, a young hog, my Podcaster, brought me a new treat, to hear the black pill gate. They said, will you be, the broken, the screwed and the cold ones, the ones giving us your moneys? Yeah, I agree. When goths comes empires fall. It's more consistent than the skyscraper theory that when new records are set, an economic crisis happens. because Romans didn't have them 🙄🤔
