Tom Watson's House of Pain feat. Nish Kumar
How to explain this? Tom Watson--yes, THAT Tom Watson--has written a 'taut, political thriller' about what if Labour and the Tories came together to make sure NHS patient data was sold to pharmaceutical companies in an ethical way. It's deeply boring in a manner that reflects its author, but it's also something else: an experience. Riley read the whole book and forced Nish Kumar to listen to it along with Milo, Hussein, and Alice. Hope you enjoy!

That is so true 😂 He'd fucking rat out any one of his lanyard mates for the chance to touch a PS5. Not even to play, just to touch. Absolute Labrador lanyard prick 🤣 The stakes are so low they might as well be trading vintage Pokemon cards for replacing the cops with mercenaries.
Tom Watson is the kind of guy who thinks Watch Dogs Legion is apolitical and also somehow 'good' writing on the strength of it's dumb premise.
OMG, I can't believe that 🤣 Of all the sordid things an MP could be found doing. Anything from selling off public assets behind closed doors to going to an eyes-wide-shut Tory pedo party in Dolphin Square, and this fictional motherfucker is worried about a bullying offence? Clearly Tom Watson IRL doesn't get invited to do the real dirty corruption.
It's telling that British MPs are so cheap to corrupt and they still didn't knock on his door. Tom Watson would have probably sold out for 2 PS4s and a lifetime subscription to Destiny but no lobbyist thought he was worth it.
Thank you Riley once again for your service.
39:33 Sebastien Coe. I love Milo's relentless Britainology deep dives.
As I stared into his evil gimlet eyes, he said “It’s over fool! I’ve already submitted the amended paper to select committee!” “Not so fast Ceremy Jorbyn, you see I actually initiated internal party disciplinary proceedings THIRTY FIVE MINUTES AGO!”
'I have the high ground!' 😆
Tom Watson's political range of action is the same as that of a small bullied child in a sandpit - begging their bully to only destroy the sandcastle, but to please refrain from kicking sand in their eyes. The people we are forced to bargain with are totally opposed to doing anything out of their interest and do not even remotely recognise state, or democratic authority - so why not at least dream big and ask for something you actually want! Then, other people might listen and think; 'Hey, I would also like that to not happen', and then (by collective action — that thing the Labour movement is supposed to be all about) we might actually get something done.
The "5 second films" Tom Watson was in had a better sense of drama, real stakes, and rising action than this book
"we're going to need a bipartisan solution to this one" truly the representative we need
Instead of emailing Milo about the merch, email Virgil Texas instead.
Tom Watson: gets called “Wom Tatson” one too many times Tom Watson: I am going to repeal The Representation of the People Act 1918
Boris Johnson's insane racist "romp" > Jacob Rees Mogg and his grudge against an historian from a century ago > Tom Watson wanking himself off over parliamentary procedures
"romp" is up there with "fracas" in the category of "words only ever used by the british tabloid press"
Thank you Riley
I love Trashfuture.
I've been hoping Nish would come back for ages now. Hell yeah! 😁
