Hate to "well actually" Riley, but Laguna Beach was a big hit for MTV in the mid-00s. ,It was piggy-backing on the larger trend of "The OC" but still managed to spawn multiple spin-offs and tv personalities. No one huge but certainly known to American women of a certain age group. Anyway, it appears Nick was overstating his role in his bio. According to IMDb, he only appeared in one episode as part of the band he was in at the time.

Also I just assumed this was a Tiffany Trump Situation when you said his parents had divorced but no it was only two years ago, given his current Blink 182 inspired band was only founded recently it's highly suggestive that this guy was copping with his parents divorce at age 29 by binge listening to 'Stay Together For The Kids'

You can tell that he got the drumming job because of his "talent" though. (By talent I mean daddies money) I feel sorry for the genuinely good musician who got paid to write the admittedly well constructed catchy song for these guys.
