Intelligence 4.0 (ft. Felix Biederman)
Riley, Alice, Milo, and Chapo Trap House's Felix Biederman have once again sat down and cracked open a book of brain literature. This time we read through British brain god Dr. Matt Ridley's The Rational Optimist (2010), and it left us all a lot happier as we explored a truly beautiful mind. It's a balm for the soul. Check it out!

expanding on the issue of blind/obtuse technofaithful optimism, Citations Needed podcast, ep 108: "How GDP Fetishism Drives Climate Crisis and Inequality"; discusses origins of GDP, GNP, meaningful indicators of a prosperous society, degrowth, and so on and so on.
Great show. The OG that Ridley is "borrowing" from is the Cornucopian economist Julian Simon, who said that people were the ultimate resource, and all of our brains would fix environmental problems. So basically, more fucking. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ultimate_Resource
This guy is if Lenny from Of Mice and Men was a banker
That gave me a lovely lift just as I was losing the will to live for the afternoon. I love Felix - hasn't he got a lovely laugh? Please approach the episode1 people about doing a show. It would be so funny, I think. You could ask Felix as well. Thank you to everyone馃挏x

My Russian Studies prof at uni spent a year abroad in the USSR in the early sixties. He said all the food was absolute crap *except* the ice cream, which he said was hands down the best he ever had, despite trying all the nicer Western stuff in the ensuing 50 years. He said he ended up eating nothing but ice cream while he was there, and that he lost 20 lbs. in the process.
truly age of empires 2 tier laughs going on in here
