The Anatolian Candidate feat. Mattie Lubchansky
It's the free one!
We admit it: we went too early with the Eric Adams story a couple weeks ago… and circumstances have developed not necessarily to the Mayor’s advantage… so No Gods, No Mayors’ Mattie Lubchansky (and Riley Quinn and November Kelly) join the gang to discuss details of the unsealed indictment. Also, we discuss recent events in Lebanon and then read an article about a hyper-secure island for billionaires off the coast of Miami.

Hi, I just sprinted here from Spotify and gave you $5 so I could leave a comment telling you I went to high school Guthrie Scrimgeor. He was a year above me and we were in the same choir/many of the same musical theater productions! Did not know him very well at all but he was chill lmao
How will the right explain away the murdering of Lebanese Christians I assume being brown and Christian is the same as being white and Christian, right? RIGHT?
I don't have a way to properly say this with the full punch I think it deserves, but what the Israeli state wants is Lebensraum, but Jewish this time. Every time that "Greater Israel" map rears its ugly head, I can't think of anything else.
It's a really mixed feeling to see an episode with Mattie Lubchansky, because on the one hand, Mattie is great at riffing and being a guest in general, but I know that when they're on, it's at least partially to go "you know this Eric Adams guy and how annoying and horse-kicked-in-the-head he is? Well, turns out he did or said something annoying and horse-kicked-in-the-head again. " I'm just so profoundly tired of this labrador-brained moron and his relentless "new york is new york! Its the city I am in! The mayor! Of new york city! How would I sum up last year in one word? I'd have to say....New York!" horseshit. Luckily, it seems like everyone else is too.
The whole island is a Cory Doctorow novel waiting to happen
Cory probably has decision paralysis just thinking about the angles.
So when the climate apocalypse happens, will someone just cut power to rich cop island or will the cops just Praetorian Guard them
Yo! They're working on closing Rikers. https://rikers.cityofnewyork.us What if it was rededicated to housing only corrupt New York politicians? Trump, Adams, George Santos... And maybe it could be televised. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
we need Indian Creek OSINT
I had a friend the other day explain to me that there's a meme going around that so many guys fly back from Turkey with implants that they call it Turkish Hairlines
https://theonion.com/everyone-in-middle-east-given-own-country-in-317-000-00-1819576713/ The guys took about two minutes to independently recreate this joke
"I've so much polo on me I've got horsepower" roflmao
looking forward to the playoff game between the Avignon Popes and the Anatolian Mayors
Wait, none of you are Nixon? I can't believe I've been lied to!
Can you be sure tho?
When your 5 favourite podcasts all riff on the same limited set of facts in the same week 😪 Back half v good v nice tho
Sounds like you need to go back to waiting the table of success
It's a wonder Eric Adams hasn't gotten a horrific blood clot.
Middle Manager in Turkish Airways: L'État, c'est moi
No, Mattie, that's a "cetacean citation"
Asheville mentioned .-.
Love seeing the November Kelly bump on that cop's photo, episodes only been out a few hours and he's already jumped from the 2nd position on Google images to the 1st.
Oh come on, you're talking about Surfside like a condo already collapsed there or something.
The hubris of billionaires/multi-millionaires walking out of their bunkers and seamlessly transitioning to perfect-equilibrium subsistence farming is pretty crazy. You don't know anything about it. You don't have any experience with it. But how hard can it be, right? If hicks can do it, so can I - but better. You put the thing in the ground and wait, innit? Countdown to cannibalism starts the second that bunker-door swings open.
I know it shouldn't bother me this much but that has to be one of the worst locations for a ride out of the collapse of society bunker. It's guaranteed to get wiped off the map due to climate change, there's not enough arable land to do shit (Soil Data says it has a vegetative capacity of zero pounds per year so I'm going to assume that just means an intern didn't try to grow anything on beach sand and gave up), and there's not any fresh water either? It appears they buy water from the public utility so that's not very libertarian, and there's no sewage system. I guess the rich won't have to worry about that failing then, but it does really move this into a Burj Khalifa type situation except with shit boats.
I tell people, when l don't feel like hiding my nihilistic urges, that l don't hope or expect to survive any actual apocalypse situation. I do, however, hope to last long enough to laugh as all the bug-out bunkers fail in all the dumbest, most easily predictable ways
Milo's Nixon bits never get old.
Why did Constantinople get the [public] works [contracts]? That's nobody's business but the Turks!
ha ha may he be trolled with every version of that song
It’s so sad the way they’re targeting him and preventing him from doing his mayoral duties, like visiting local evangelical christian churches regularly to preach that there should be no separation between church and state. 😢
Not to be a smartass and annoying, but we did know about Adams connection to Turkish interests around a year ago. I think Chapo even covered it at the time it was reported. I believe the only thing in the indictment that wasn’t previously known was the straw donors and some of the specific details. We didn’t know until it was unsealed this is what he was being charged with so apologies if that what you meant.
Clarified!
Has anyone seen Edmund Pevensie and Eric Adams in the same room? Nova might be on to something here
Without listening, that island sounds like somebody read the critically acclaimed graphic novel Boys Weekend by Mattie Lubchansky (available at all fine comic bookstores) and decided to make the island a reality.
