Starting my 2025 off with The Boys(plus one Denker), a few beers, and a classic Royal Rumble. Happy New Year everybody!

In terms of match card, this is probably one of the all-time greatest Royal Rumble events! Start off hot with the Tazz debut, one of the greatest and craziest tables matches ever! (D-Von in half a second avoiding Jeff Hardy's dive is an all-timer moment) an insane bikini contest two short but hard-hitting title matches, the most infamous world title match to ever happen on the Royal Rumble PPV and while the 2000 Rumble match definitely fell flat because of the lack of star power, you still get a few all timer moments out of it and it ended on a high note with the Rock winning so, while I get the hate the match gets, with what they had it wasn't a bad way to wrap up a good show.

I remember going over my brother’s friend’s house for most of the WWF PPVs at this point because we couldn’t buy it on a consistent basis so we went to said friend’s house, paid $5 and had a good time. In fact, my brother and I knew it was Taz before they did because we were watching ECW on local tv (it would come on Fridays at like 1 or sometimes 2am). Man, such good memories.

Its crazy how obvious the switch out of the barbed wire is too, the shoot barbed wire gets all untangled from the board and the fake one is all pristine and plastic looking. my headcanon 100 percent was that Hunter was like "Im not fucking letting you hit me with barbed wire".

Just in case anyone was curious about the bikini contest from the original broadcast: when Mae exposed herself the first time it was censored but when Mae is revealed as the winner that was when you saw them. Which is why there was a quick cut in the Peacock/Network version

I'm nearly convinced that this game and this game alone is WWF No Mercy's source material. Every attire, every theme, a bunch of storylines, and the famous "IF YA SMELL" that plays at the end of the intro is taken from Rock's promo.

I kind of enjoyed when everyone wondered who the tag champs were and first thought E&C (plausible), Acolytes (less plausible, I don't recall them as tag champs?) and....it's the super boring choice in 2000, the Outlaws. I was there with you folks! Why them? Also lol that match.

This is a true story. I was just a kid of course and I had my dad rent this for me from blockbusters. Back in the day, early 2000's. It was infact the uncensored version. I saw Mae Youngs saggy tits and it was one of the first times I saw boobs as a child. Seriously. I remember being a dumb kid and getting caught by my mom while she was walking by.
