DEADLOCK Podcast #211 (Video)

It’s the first WCW Nitro of 2001! Ric Flair is the owner of WCW and we are getting ready for the WCW Sin. There is a mystery man running around and nobody knows who it is. As the episode goes on, the pieces for the main event at the ppv are falling into place. Shane Douglas fights Sid Vicious for his spot in the WCW Championship match. Schedule is Scott Steiner vs Jeff Jarrett vs Sid Vicious vs The Mystery Man! We have no idea who this mystery is! Also, Goldberg and Sarge are very upset with Kronik! If Kronik beats Goldberg his career is over! And for the first time ever we have a Minnesota Massacre Last Man Standing Match with the Natural Born Thrillers vs randomly selected opponents.  Also, the DEADLOCK Q&A returns.

This shit with Flair, Steiner, Jarrett, Sid and the Mystery Man makes even less sense when you remember it's all building to the Magnificent Seven.

That was me asking about the Trish photo! Was listening to old episodes and remember that she was doing an appearance near me in November 😂

idk where to suggest review topics, but you guys should watch Louie Theroux's Wacky Weekend: Wrestling. He goes to WCW and a local indie show, as well as training at the Powerplant with Sarge and it gets crazy lol

a perfect distillation of WCW's problems in the last two years of existence is the ongoing "who's the boss" battle where you have a President, CEO, and Commissioner and frequently matches are fought over them, or even one person is multiple roles, and half of the show is the conflict over them making different booking decisions. Mike Sanders and The Cat fight over the Commissionership so much I'm not sure they aren't still doing it to this day. CZW did this much better in 2001-2002.

It's made worse by the fact that Cat is made to defend his commissionership every week later in the year, just to give it up himself lol
