One of the most anticipated matches in independent wrestling history, between two guys on the complete opposite ends of the wrestling world. In 2005, Samoa Joe was in the discussion as being one of the best wrestlers in the entire world. In 2005, Necro Butcher was in the discussion as being one of the craziest deathmatch wrestlers in the entire world. On one night in Philadelphia in 2005, these two had their first match, and the rest is history!

I remember recommending this one because of how brutal those strikes where when I started seeing the video float around on Twitter, crazy that this match was only about 9:00 minutes and they packed so much in such a short period of time. Crazier to think where a lot of the people in this clip ended in their careers and all of whom are still going to this day!
Greatest match of all time. Fucking crazy that Joe did this match, the Kobashi match and the Unbreakable triple threat all in one year. Joe's the fucking man!

This whole show is one of the biggest shows IWA-MS has put on outside of the Ted Petty Invitationals. Especially since it was on the east coast which was a foreign market for them. Imo, an SGH of TPI 2004 would be amazing. So many talents ended up becoming huge deals in the wrestling industry. And it is just fun af to see them all in their low 20s.
So for some Cagematch history here, the two previous matches Necro Butcher had before this was: -a match against Mad Man Pondo in Big Japan on 6/8 (in a Falls Count Anywhere Street Fight Death) -a Falls Count Anywhere tag match with Toby Klein against H8 Club at CZW Violent by Design: Synthesized Euphoria, which happened in this exact venue the exact same day
