Jake Doyle | The Long Way #7
WHAT'S...MY...NAME?
Welcome to the 7th installment of THE LONG WAY! We've been planning this one for quite some time, and we're super excited that we were able to make this one happen.
On this edition of The Long Way, we've invited a pillar of DEADLOCK Pro Wrestling! He is a two-time DPW World Champion, one-time DPW World Tag Team Champion w/ "Speedball" Mike Bailey, and two-time DPW Carolina Classic winner. His name is JAKE SOMETHING. He is now signed to AEW, so his name is also JAKE DOYLE. We love him, and all of his names!
One thing we knew when we invited Jake to be a guest on The Long Way, was that he is a gigantic Dragon Ball Z fan, and we totally expected him to suggest something DBZ related for this series. Guess what? He did, and not only did he, he suggested we watch TWO, count 'em TWO, DBZ movies. So that's what we're going to do! It's time to check out "Cooler's Revenge" & "The Return of Cooler".

I remember when Yajirobe blinded Danielson at the Manhattan Center
Mike McFarland, the voice of Yajirobe and Master Roshi and assistant ADR director on these, passed away today. He did invent the Muscle Man voice for Yajirobe that was a good shout from James.
I'll be a DBZ sub truther till the day I die BUT these movies with the all the metal music is absolutely the way to watch the movies.
DBZ and a PS2 guy? Didn't think he could get more based but I stand corrected
hell yeah. this was such a blast.
I know Johnny is gonna watch the show but he’s GOTTA see the 1st Broly movie
MICHIGANS FINEST🗣️🗣️
Ts unironically might've just gotten me into DBZ
Fuck dude I’ve never watched DBZ but now I have to
Ain’t got shit to do with wrestling, but i fuck with DBZ even more anyway
This was such a great watch, i'd love to see the boys check out the lord slug movie, it's such a banger.
I love when they talk about the timeline for these movies because it's genuinely hard to figure out, it's easier to say that they're in a alternate timeline. In Cooler's Revenge, Goku is Super Saiyan, but Gohan is still a kid. You can kind of explain it as being after goku returns but before the androids. but then you have to ask, where is Vegeta? Then in Return of Cooler, Vegeta is there, both him and Goku are Super Saiyan, but Gohan is still a kid and they should be dealing with Perfect Cell right now.
Hearing Jake gush about his childhood and his backyard history is so warming to hear. Because I was the exact same as I'm sure a lot of us were. I made a half-Kane mask out of cardboard and staples, I made Bret Hart outfit out of sweatpants and tanktops stitched together... Ugh, I love him so much! DOOOOOOOOOOOYLE
What I love most about this one is that even though Jawnny didn't watch DBZ, he gets more info and pieces shit together and it's like he was there watching Toonami with the boys. This is the shit I live for.
Great, now I have to start watching Dragon Ball because those movies KICKED ASS DUDE!!
This isn't WRASSLIN!
JAKE SOMETHING IS THE SICKEST MAN WALKING THE EARTH

Cooler coming out of the Kamehameha blast and punching Goku is such an iconic scene!!
Shamefully already going for my third watch
the DBZ Abridged to DEADLOCK pipeline flows strongly
this was my first time watching any dbz and that Deftones transformation is legit the hypest thing I've ever seen.
Jake Doyle and the boys inspired me to rewatch DBZ Abridged
Can you guys just change your name to dragonlock and watch Dragonball every month? I'm so jealous of John that he gets to experience this for the first time.
