DEADLOCK Retro Sync #108

A true staple of any successful pro wrestling company: The most popular bald man on the show has his job on the line.

On this edition of the DEADLOCK Retro Sync, we re-visit the boys' review of this episode of WCW Thunder from 2000. The New Blood is out for, well, blood, and are at war with Hulk Hogan. What better way to get at the Hulkster than to go after someone way more over than him, his nephew, HORACE HOGAN? Horace Hogan is put in a match where if he loses, Horace loses his job, and if Hulk interferes, Horace loses his job!

Also on this episode, the infamous Kevin Nash BLOODBATH incident, as well as Arn Anderson coming out of retirement to face David Flair. All of that, and somehow, SO much more!

Watch here! Just make sure you're on the right episode, as Archive will automatically play the first video in the playlist.

Am I the only one confused and wondering how they got the intro song for Thunder during this era? It’s Slayer’s “Here Comes the Pain”, but the God Hates Us All album didn’t come out until 9/11/2001.

There’s a version that was on the WCW Mayhem CD (that I think Santa Claus brought me for Christmas 99)

Seriously, these Russo-era WCW shows are just LAYERED with garbage. Four notable moments that could be their own episode and the boys pick the least-known bit of the group.

Sting up in the rafters like “what an oddly placed bucket of dookie blood”

Terry Funk was the only one that gave a shit about the WCW Hardcore Title and I respect that a lot
