George the Animal is so beast, flapping his arms and shit
I can't believe we saw Macho Man attempt to drown Miss Elizabeth.
in my heart, that was Leatherface vs Volkoff
WHEN THE GOING GET RUFF
Oh my God. It just occurred to me that they might have been ribbing Ventura when they had the Navy Seal tell Kirchner (shoot former Army Paratrooper) to show the audience the proper method of entering the water. "Stand back Jesse, let me show you how it's done." 😆
We really traded up in terms of dogs this week
Terry Funk was already being referred to as "middle aged and crazy" in 1985.
Uncle Elmer may be the greatest wrestler of all time.
Terry Funk does it again. I feel like I have seen one of these referees before.
I'm Captain Lou and I'm talking to you
I had to rewind within the first five seconds because did this motherfucker put a whole banana and an uncracked egg into his already mixed smoothie? Also S/O to the camera men making sure almost every angle of JYD’s trunks make it look like they say “Hump” instead of “Thump” during Hogan’s match.
November 3rd 1985 ... How do you guys see that thumbnail and not choose that one??
Watching the youtube version with all the 80's radio broadcasted music on the show. if you have the money, just spend it and license the song. the product feels more alive instead of stock bullshit music
Definitely. Especially this era. It was the "Rock n Wrestling Era" for a reason. The music adds a really nice vibe to the show. The Billy Ocean music video was giving me a big nostalgia rush.
"Come on, everyone - commence to jigglin'!"
Thanks Hillbilly Jim for the house
HOLY FUCK UNCLE ELMER POP?!?!?!?
Even as a kid, I wasn't rooting for hillbillies. Fuck off, Vince. I was rooting for Piper and company to smash them into paste.
I'm interested to hear Jawnny's impression of JYD. It's like a mix of Dusty and Black Snow.
No Road Dogg or Armstrongs here. Jawnny demands this.
January 4th gotta be a top five top ten day for wrestling
Ah yes, the SNME where Volkoff and Kirchner have an ROH Pure match.
Also, I've said it before: A lot of wrestlers get the "they can say anything and it'd be awesome" line, but I feel like Piper is the only wrestler that legitimately applies to.
Immediately getting hit with dire straits on the YouTube version is crazy
I'd recommend the youtube version for the added bonus of licensed 80s bops as background music
That Billy Ocean song is going to be stuck in my head for a while.
This the one where Jake Robert’s almost Kills Ricky Steamboat with a DDT on concrete
The Boys are bringing the FUCKING 80s BACK! YEEEEEEAAAAHHH!
Based god Uncle Elmer
The older the show reviewed, the better the episode. Which implies the best Deadlock Ep would be reviewing George Hackenschmidt vs. Frank Gotch.
More like... Frank Crotch
80s wrestling ep is gonna be maybe a top 10 deadlock ep I already know
WHAT?
YESSSS
1986 what a fantastic year for wrestling. I have no idea brother
