So I’m guessing Gallows was considered to have shut the bed so bad that they canceled the whole angle and wrote off “the Real Kane” the next night. They should have called an audible and had him lose.
This match was shit from a butt and yet it was still better than taker's "og vs clone" match. Also that pin at the end was lowkey kinda sexy.

I was watching this in real time back on 06 and have no memory of mask Kane beating bald Kane. And after that pin, I think I see why I blocked this from my brain.
I remember watching this whole feud when it happened live, even back then 8-year-old me couldn't help but question "why the hell this was happening!?" only years later did I learned it had ties to the See-no-Evil film and that in promoting the film this feud was supposed to run throughout the Summer ((as part of the 4th annual Summer of Kane)) ending in a big match at Summerslam with Unmasked Kane conquering his Demons and becoming normal? ((Which would of made no scenes because they were promoting a horror movie)) and the momentum post feud would put him in a WWE title feud against Cena. The General lack of enthusiasm from Backstage and fans alike made Vince go "Screw it" and have Kane just throw him out of a Door the next night on Raw, abruptly cancelling all future plans which also made 8-year-old me go "what the Hell!?"

It's pretty funny that the only reason WWE did this angle was to promote See No Evil that was coming out on May 19; which is why they kept referencing May 19 during the angle.
