They had a really active wrestling community back then (still do!) but I remember seeing the weekly threads in GBS and countless WWE-related custom titles back then and thinking "That's still going? At some point he decided he could do his heel schtick to everybody but still be a good guy, so his character - on and off camera - became an endless stream of insults handwaved with some insincere "Hey, we're just having fun" asides.
