It’s WCW Thunder in the year 2000 and you know what that means, it’s Vince Russo time! On the July 26th, 2000 episode of WCW Thunder, the show opens with the commissioner The Cat getting attacked by the Jung Dragons. This causes the limo driver, MI Smooth, to get pissed and challenge them to a match later that night. The Filthy Animals take on 3 Count, Big Vito battles Lance Storm for the Hardcore Title, and Judy Bagwell wrestles Positively Kanyon! Also, Billy Kidman plays a VHS tape between Shane Douglas and Torrie Wilson where Shane Douglas couldn’t get it up. Plus, Goldberg sits down and shoots on turning heel in WCW, tells everyone how he doesn’t like wrestling, and that Kevin Nash was booked to beat him. It’s a crazy messed up world in WCW on Thunder with Vince Russo booking the entire catastrophe.

I believe Vince McMahon knew how stupid Russo could be, and without a checks and balances system like the then WWF had, McMahon knew Russo’s ideas would help kill WCW and didn’t protest when he jumped.

Waking up in the morning, looking at my phone when still half-asleep oh dear god that's Judy Bagwell, it sure is. Yeah, this episode of Thunder was rough. I wonder if the fans who hadn't already been driven off by Russo trash officially ran away after that awful, awful Goldberg interview. At that point you just assume the people in charge don't like wrestling, and go watch something else.
