DEADLOCK Podcast #288 (Video)
One of the best episodes of ECW Hardcore TV took place on June 6th, 1997! ECW Wrestlepalooza 1997 just happened and we are looking at 3 matches from that show. First, Tommy Dreamer and Raven have their final battle as Raven is about to head to WCW! This match was significant as Tommy had never beat Raven in a match. After the match was over Jerry Lawler invaded, alongside RVD and Sabu, and they beat up everyone from the locker room until Taz came out. Taz then challenged Sabu to a match and it’s going to happen right now. Following that match, Shane Douglas got on the microphone and a 3 minute challenge match was going to happen. Taz had 3 minutes to defeat Shane Douglas and if he did so, he would become the new ECW TV Champion. This show flowed seamlessly and it’s probably one of the greatest episodes of ECW Hardcore TV ever produced! Plus, the boys go to WWE 2K25 Creator Fest and play the game early!

On the topic of 2K25 having a bunch of AEW FF elements: Yearly sports titles suffer from lack of competition and it can lead them to be stagnant. Different options and voices in the marketplace drives all competition forward. I hope to see a sequel to FF because it’ll help make both games better.

Idk why I remember this so much but in 99 at a mall there was a kiosk that was playing ECW the Dudley’s putting balls through a flaming table. The dude was only selling all the ECW vhs in a glass case. Couldn’t believe it then still can’t believe it now 😂

I had the Sabu + Taz autographed poster. It was awesome, my prized possession mounted on the bedroom wall of my childhood bedroom. Freshman year of college, while I was states away, our house burned down. Always sucked to never be able to have insurance get that back.
