DEADLOCK Watch This #215
Potentially a first time here on WATCH THIS; we watch a match from before any of us were born!
On this edition of Watch This, we take it back to the days of Houston Wrestling in 1985, where Jim Duggan was a regular, hard working man that fought for what he believed in, and Ted Dibiase was a snob that didn't exactly have a million dollars yet, but he was on his way. Also, yes, the match stipulation in the title is what is happening here. A Loser Leaves Town FOR 30 DAYS Coal Miner's Glove On A Pole Steel Cage Tuxedo Street Fight.

love you lads. for fucks sake not dailymotion.
Hey buddy, we recommend using Ublock Origin which works 99% of the time in the Firefox browser, and typically works well on Chrome/etc. It's simply out of our hands. Videos like this get entire accounts nuked on any other platform, such as what happened to us earlier this year. We've tried other platforms that sadly also didn't work out. This is the compromise. If you would like a refund due to this, please reach out!
The video's dead, jim :(
I genuinely think about this match a lot and i come back to the vid all the time lol That image of Duggan screaming like a maniac with a crimson mask is such a sick fuckin image dude
Coming back to this for 1985 Jim Duggan Superman Punch
Get out of Houston u bitch🤣🤣🤣🤣...Awesome Match that don't do it like that anymore
A WHAT IN A WHO UP MY WHAT AND OUT MY HUH MATCH??????
This match put the Coal Miners glove over huge. The idea that a weapon is so devastating that it’s being held INSIDE of a cage with these men. And only one thwap puts the other guy out for the three? So sick old wresting rules!
Paul Boesch’s Houston Wrestling was a huge deal here through the 60’s to 80s and a very underrated territory
I think me and Jawny started tearing up at the same time towards the end of the match. MORE OF THIS PLEASE. I understand it only being here and there but I would love some more old school wrasslin reactions!
Southern wrasslin' was something else. Jim Duggan was a fucking beast before he got to the fed and they turned him into a caricature. This match ripped. They don't make 'em like this anymore and they shouild.
That shit was HEAT 🔥
That shit kicked ass holy fuck
HOOOOOOOOOOO👍
Bro, that shot of Duggan bleeding out, looking fucking huge and screaming like an animal is now my wallpaper. A man can only dream of looking that badass.
I was born in 85
THESE TWO WERE FUCKING HOOPERS IN THE TERRITORIES RAAAHHH!!!
YEAHHH THAT OLD SCHOOL SHIT BE HITTIN YALL GOTTA DO MORE!
I think everyone tends to forget that Duggan was a hell of a worker. We may joke about his WWF/WCW stuff there is a legit reason why he was around for so long. Good workers always have a spot on any roster.
Houston must have been rich as hell with the 16:9. Way ahead of their time. In all seriousness, can we get more old shit on Deadlock?
This match type sounds like something you would create in Wrestling Empire.
Now that y’all watched some 85 let’s go back to the same year and watch that Jaguar Toyota vs Lioness Asuka joint 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I apologize Mr Duggan, I was not familiar with your game
backdrop sack tap to shoulder block combo no one wrestles like this anymore man
Jim Duggan, bleeding like crazy, yelling, looking huge, with 1 glove on....dude I have never been more afraid or in awe of Jim Duggan in my life that shit was CRAZY!
guy like me i’m getting in a time machine and bringing 85 jim duggan to dpw and he’s working jake something for a year straight
man that kicked so much ass. why have we strayed so far from 10 minutes of punching each other in the head because you hate the other person's tax bracket
Jim Duggan is 2 for 2 on banger Watch This matchematches
Wrestling used to be so simple. This shit means something to me man.
Duggan held the gig in his hand for like 2 straight minutes and then couldnt get it in his pocket
I had to rewind to watch that bump in the corner where Ted folded harder than DiBiase around a stripper
In my mind this match alone is why Duggan vs Dibase won WON fued of the year in 1985. Nobody doing it better than this
Watching wrestling entirely through Deadlocked Syncs and these is insane because I know Jim Duggan entirely from the XWF and that one other episode, so watching his career in reverse starting with trying to put over General E. Rection and leading to now where he straight up just donkey punches Ted Dibiase in the fucking face is a journey.
Jim Duggan is from my home town. He's like, the only notable person to come from here. Some local hot dog spot used to have an autographed 2x4 on display, and I feel like it doesn't get much more American than that lol.
I might be one of the few here that was alive when this match happened lol
I’m right there with you , I was 6 years old when this match happened lol
That match was awesome! More 80s wrestling please
This was a really fun match to watch, old school wrestling can be the best sometimes. That punch Duggan did to finish the match was badass.
That shot of Duggan firin’ up at the end could be an album cover. Hard as FUCK!!
'Vulgar Display of Power' energy
that match fucking ruled
I've never seen Duggan look so fucking cool in my life
I'd be so down with you guys watching more of this older stuff. It's cool to see how much has/hasn't changed and it's just fun seeing these old crowds being super into it too. Not that their not today of course, it's just a bit of a different energy. This was awesome!
Much like how OSW made me really love Earthquake, watching this and old Nitros with Deadlock really gives me an appreciation for Duggan. I only remember him as the goofy USA legend but wow what a fun match. I’d love to watch more 80s wrestling.
holy shit this was kinda fire, these are what we need now. Jim Duggan kinda kicks ass too
It was great seeing someone pull a wrestler back into the cage to keep the coward from running, rather than it involving the win con. Don't get me started about using the damn door to escape!
Holy name batman!
That ruled
Highly recommend checking out some AWA Curt Hennig matches, old school but still super engaging
Those Bockwinkel matches were fuckin gas
Fun fact: Jim Duggan's punches looked so great because they were real punches!
"TAKE HIS SLEEVES" bit had me dying holy fuck
Thats that UWFI ppv intro Jim Duggan
One of the best of the '80s. Magnum/Tully next!
A loser leaves town match....for 30 days?
DiBiase had to do an All Japan tour, brother
Jawnny realizing in real time that a lot of old wrestling is actually pretty sick has been a hell of an arc
Jim fucking duggan
There’s a video package explaining the lead up to this match here: https://youtu.be/i-3JCODSpu0?si=4uSaoIMJLXLSiXNX
Thank you for posting this. This is literally incredible stuff
Goddamn, that was cool. So much work being put in despite not a ton of moves. Never seen Duggan move that fast in my life!
It’s crazy how you can put Jim Duggan in any decade and he still gets a pop. Slap him on a DPW show im chanting U S A
Is this the one where DiBiase showed up to the show driving a U-haul truck basically giving awa the finish?
Deadlock going proper old school is truly a skee-woah moment
"Oh they're checking him for strippers." "THEY WILL FIND MANY"
Dude Duggan legit looks kind of awesome in a suit, I did not know that before today
this the real shit
this fucking rips
someone needs to invent time travel and bring this Duggan into the present and making him a champ NOW
God this match kicks so much ass
Oh fuck yeah, territories brawling. That's the real shit. If yall want more, check out Bruno Sammartino vs Stan Hansen and Magnum vs Tully. Fuckin awesome
Actually fuck it, putting Starrcade 85 on the SGH thread
i think i'm marty jannetty
Jim Duggan, bloody, primal yell Is one of the Hardest shots in Wrestling now
So glad you guys did this! Wish y'all could've seen the promos and everything leading up the blowoff here. The best punch in history! Now do Ric and Kerry in Dallas and do Bret and Davy Boy at SummerSlam!
*Me reading the stipulation* ......WHUT DA HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLL?!?!
Y'all should watch Magnum T.A. vs. Tully Blanchard from Starrcade, one of the most early fucked up matches that took place in the U.S.
this was all punching Pleaseeeee watch tully vs ron garvin next... their 7/5/86 match might be the greatest match built around punches ever its so fucking fun and good
He fucking falcon punched dibiase holy shit
nobody does it like Territories Duggan
YEAH!!!! GOOD MATCH!!!
Aw Hell Yeah Hooooooooo *Jim Duggen voice*
Holy! This is the stuff I've been waiting for y'all to do. NO MORE WWF POST 2002
Getting into the oldschool booking philosophies and psychology is gonna add so many layers to DPW that other indies wont have
I saw “loser leaves town” and I was gonna try to relay the feeling I had from my last match which was LLT. But this something else and the booker is a sick bastard 😂
1985 16:9 footage is crazy
my brain just fucking twisted WHAT IS THIS STIPULATION
Gotta watch the Ric Flair vs Ted DiBiase NWA match where Dibiase gets beat so bad that he bleeds everywhere and then gets brainbustered onto concrete
got the notification for this and let out an audible “what the fuck”
oh yea we hitting the ol glory knee drop on this one
How does a match have every buzzword in wrestling match history
If a notification could be a fucked fucker, this would be one
Man, I love LLTCMGOAPSCTSF matches.
