This was a best of pride fc tv show that aired on spike tv on the weekends, I remember watching it and remembering what mma should be.
PRIDE drew a weird line when it came to safety. Steroids were encouraged, you fought multiple times in one day, you could soccer kick guys, you could fall out of the ring. BUT elbows weren't allowed and any cut would be cleaned up with stoppages in the middle of rounds.
from what i understand it’s more of a cultural thing than an organizational thing, as the huge aversion to blood and bigger cuts still exists today in JMMA. and obviously they (like everyone should) love getting people on the juice and lettin em bang
