What a great chapter. Tension, Jodio standing up and fighting Howler himself, Paco's backstory, and that ending wrapped it up perfectly. It really shocked me. Despite the crazy response that it's gotten, I actually really like the Dragona thing, as I feel like it's gonna lead to a future conversation between Jodio and Dragona or at least SOMETHING; Really one of my biggest fears with the Part was Araki never adressing Jodio's narration at the start of chapter 1, and that we would just have to roll with it and our interpretations; I don't form part of the LGBT community, but I don't think that extremely indirect stuff would be good representation, so I'm just really happy that aspect seems to be setup for expanding later. I wish the whole Dragona discussion wasn't as agressive, as I feel like both sides are just very mean to each other and don't want to have an actual discussion but just be right about what they want her to be. I'd personally be fine with whatever, I'd just be disappointed if it was never elaborated again, so that's why I'm happy. Let's hope it really is a setup! Also about that Mickey 17 rant, I totally get you; I kinda feel like the way that movie makes you reflect about death was a big enough topic to cover the whole movie, but then it tries to also be a parody/critic and it's like "yeah I agree with you, but Idk if like having a cartoon of a villain for the sake of criticizing". I kinda feels like it makes the movie more harm than good.

the expression that Dragona makes after charmingman says what he says about her really made me think she was gonna call him out for it. i hope that once this tense conflict is over she finally speaks up for her own identity (because im fully on the "she's trans" boat and i think that just making her a "femboy" who takes hrt would be the cowards way out for araki)
I wouldn't exactly call it the cowards way out, Araki is probably not privy to "hrt femboys" or that he is doing anything insensitive if he makes Dragona identify as male. Araki has always expressed gender and looks don't define you or even matter so this all could just be his way of expressing men can look like women and vice versa. So I don't think he's backing out of anything but just writing the character exactly how he wants and people are putting a lot of expectations on what they want Dragona to be and not what they are.
Paco reminds me a bit of Narancia. Mother out of the picture, father sucked ass, dropped out of school and the people he surrounded himself with just wanted to take advantage of him. Though deep down he did love the people close to him and valued his relationships, which is the reason as to why he got taken advantage of, he trusted too much. Getting ready for a double fake out death with Paco 💔
great chapter, although we're never gonna catch a break with the dragona discourse at this pace 😭 apart from that, I wanted to ask you something unrelated: I love the music overlay you had at the beginning, but when you showed it was connected to youtube music my mind exploded. did you make the widget yourself? or do you know of how to do something simmilar? cause I found myself watching a lot of videos about song widgets for obs and stuff and the only thing that I had going on was a more "local" approach with foobar2000 and shit that I haven't really worked on that much. so yeah thanks in advance if you respond, much love 💜

I believe that Dragona is a man and he changed his appearence due to the bullying and he hated looking like a guy so he changed into looking like a woman.
That is an interpretation I could see due to their flashback, although when I suggested that in the chapter review I was called transphobic so.. 🤷 but I would say that is suggested based on how it's written
You bring up the Lava Rock taking away agency from the characters but I think it’s better to view it as it’s creating opportunities for them. Yokohama may have been taken out by the Lava Rock’s influence, but unless Jodio comes up with a plan and Charmy has the ability to execute it, it means nothing. This chapter is a good example, the boats coming could have meant that they had to run but Jodio is able to use the moment to turn the screws and take advantage of the mechanism.

Something interesting about the Dragona gender stuff to note, even though Dragona never corrects anybody, it's always anybody other than Dragona themself making the 'confirmations' on their gender. Whether or not that's intentional set up for a coming out story later, I don't know, but it's a detail that shouldn't be ignored either I think.
100% agreed and I kind of hope that’s the case cause it’s a super good idea for a character arc
