Aaah I can't even explain the feelings I'm feeling when looking at this screenshot! It makes me smile and makes my heart ache at the same time.
I have a feeling all his childhood he associated with his anxiety and being not good enough. I think it’s really nice he can finally just enjoy his own nostalgia detached from what scares him. I’m glad the MC can help him heal in that way, even if he doesn’t realise it yet. I’ve experienced the exact same thing, of wanting to detach myself from old friends because the feelings and anxiety I had projected onto them had become so toxic for me. I suspect Baxter is going through the same thing.
