Our Life 2: MC Doll (Batch 1)!
Tah-dah! It's the brand new style for the MC dress-up doll. I think it's super precious. There are six skin tones, even though only five are featured here, and several more color options for the hair/eyes/scarf.
And of course, as time goes on we'll add totally new options than those shown here. You'll be able to choose different face and eye shapes, other types of accessories, extras like freckles/scars/birthmarks, and new hairstyles. This is only the very first batch of things.
But it's not just the MC who has a little icon, each character with a sprite will also have a chibi made for them. That's because facial icons are going to be included on the textbox! You'll get to see your own little face whenever you talk in game, unlike the first OL where the doll only showed up on the customization screen and relationship screen.

I love this so much. I was saying to myself how much I would have loved to see MC's face or sprite during Our Life so this will be a wonderful addition for OL2 :)
There are so cute! Will we see in a video how the doll looks on screen? Will they be in the corner or the textbox? I ask since I feel little unsure about them appearing on screen.
I like having the face show up more often a lot! Is the MC going to have only one expression, or is the game going to generate some default ones? If I create a smiling MC, it might be kind of jarring to see them going perpetually :) (Of course, that's on me to create a smiling MC!)
Love games where you can create your own mc within the game, and the first games customizations were great but I cant wait to see the mc more physically in the game😊

I love the look of this!! I wonder if you'll be able to toggle the MC icon on and off? I really like the first-personness of OL1, I guess it feels more immersive to me. But still, great work :D

This is incredibly cute. I have to admit that I haven't been sold on Our Life 2 yet; it's still very early days and my heart is still set on Our Life 1, which won't really be completed until the end of the year. However, the UI changes in OL2 are, by and large, improvements! Being able to see the MC's doll is a huge thing. I would spend a lot of time working on my MC's doll in OL1, but would often forget what my MC looked like by the time the current step was over until I was back on the doll screen! This, like many of the other UI changes, allows for much greater immersion and that is something I'm enjoying about the OL2 updates so far.

Ok, this is pretty damn amazing. It would be really nice if we could get colours that match the mother's hair and eye colours, perhaps even colours that match other characters though that's up to you.

The dolls are very cute, but would it be possible to have an option to *not* see yr little doll face whenever you talk in game? Since the style is so different, I think it would take me out of the immersion of the game 😅
The doll doesn't match the sprites, but it does match the game's UI and that's how it's treated- as an interface decal. All the characters have it and it's just a little decoration as part of the game's overall look rather it trying to be equivalent to a character sprite. I think seeing it all together would be the most helpful and that people will like/get it then. But if there's still requests to remove it we can consider it. Though, we'd likely also have to remove the icons for all the other characters 'cause it'd be weird if it was only the MC who *didn't* have one, haha.
