If you get sick or scared on the boat, Cove will go to the room with you and play one of the games.

You have to play hangman with him if you're on the crush/ love route, or it'll go to the tic-tac-toe route with you being friends/ acquaintance with him. This is how it goes for me at the beginning of the game.
