I’d really like to apply for the job, however my issue is that even though I can replicate the style well (I’ve done it a few times before so my character would fit the style I had in mind for him), my usual art style isn’t really compatible with it. Would it be okay if I sent a portfolio with examples of how I replicate the style instead of my usual art?
Yeah, you're welcome to send the style replication! But you can also still include your portfolio of normal work. That's good to just see a history of someone's artwork online. We need to see that someone isn't coming out of nowhere. That avoids problems like a person taking someone else's work and simply saying it's theirs in an email.
