OL2: Original Background Style Test
This is extremely random, but this very pretty background is not something in the game. Before Vic Alen officially became the lead BG artist of the team, this was a test piece I commissioned to see how well the style would match with the character sprites. It was a great match and the rest was history!
Unbelievably, this was sent in March of 2021. So many years... Maybe this image could end up in the game after all somehow 'cause it is a nice location.

Maybe this is near the stone bridge, with the water from the small creek feeding into wider creek that passes under the bridge. A little out of the way of the path, but a nice rendezvous for either LIs and the MC. Edit: Just noticed it's a path rather than a small creek, oops! Oh well, it's still a nice out of the way place that would fit in near the 'Special Place'. 😁
This is so pretty!
It's a very pretty piece for sure.
Maybe a trail for Qiu and MC/Franky to bike down? Or a Nature walk for MC/Franky and Tamarack? It is extremely beautiful
honestly could see the kids running between the trees 😩😭
It could be a pretty place to have the kids visit in maybe the end of Step 3? That’d be such a poignant transition part — moving into the winter of their final year of high school. Just my $0.02. ☺️
I have a sister younger than this painting.
This is a beautiful background ✨ it would make a perfect location for a significant event, like confession or proposal or something like that ❤️ it would do good to be a background for an ordinary scene as well
this really does feel like a step 3 or step 4 confession scene spot !! i hope we can see it in the game some day 💕
100%
it's so pretty!
Maybe it can be another trail in the park that goes further into the woods. Easy to miss the entrance but most adults know this "secret trail."
so beautiful! its perfect for a heartfelt moment or something that makes a lasting impression <3
It's so pretty!
it’s so beautiful!!!
woww its gorgeous!!!
I’d personally imagine it as a confession location 👀
Exactly what I was thinking. I hope you consider this, GB.
