Hello hello! I hope you and David are both doing well :) I have a couple of gameplay questions about OLBA: 1.) During my last wedding DLC playthrough, I was very pleasantly surprised when Cliff joined in on the bouquet toss during the wedding (and actually ended up with one of the bouquets!) In my previous files, he always declined. What determines whether he participates? 2.) During the party games in OLBA Step 2, is it randomized whether you win or lose the games, or does your outlook on the game affect it? I was surprised to lose at the final stage of the candy toss in my latest playthrough, I’d never lost before while legitimately trying to win. And I can never quite seem to memorize where to pin the tail for the donkey, but I was wondering if this changes too?

I understand if you don't know/can't share this, but will Qiu ever be officially diagnosed with ADHD in universe? If so, will they take some sort of medication? Asking as an ADHD having enby who's been loving Qiu's portrayal so far

Does Baxter also dye his own or does he go to someone else? 2) While replaying Baxter’s Step 3 DLC I noticed that he prefers to drive himself instead of being a passenger, specifically when helping with Miranda’s birthday and Hangout. Is there a reason for this or does he just like driving?

hii! ive rlly been wondering this because from what ive played so far alot of the game is focused around qiu, will there be options for say, mc’s mental health ( because its obviously a struggle many teenagers go through, ) and something to do with disabilities? like autism, adhd etc cause on fandom i saw something about qiu having adhd and was hoping that would also be something implemented throughout the game to do with mc too?

Hi!! How would Step 2 Qiu (who was crushing on MC) react if MC told them that they were moving out of Golden Grove soon (because of Opal’s job, maybe)? Would that push Qiu to tell MC their feelings for them, or would they just keep it to themself? Would they handle MC moving away well?

Do you have specific heights in mind for Qiu and Tam in each step, or for a tall/average/short MC?

I hope April has been treating you both very well, as well as the rest of the GB Patch team it’s been a real joy seeing the sneakpeeks and goodies being released over the years following OL2’s development! 1) On the more technical aspect of the game, since there are new programmers being added to the team how will beta tests be going forward? The usual pattern has been, for Moments the betas are released in halves across two months, and for Prologues/Epilogues they tend to be released in thirds across 3 months or so. But since I know there is the November 2026 early access release the team is aiming for, I was wondering if there would be any changes in either the amount of things being tested each month or if moments would be released for beta testing in full or if there would be half a free Moment and half a DLC Moment released to be tested at the same time and then the following month the second halves of each respective moment would be released for testing? Hopefully this isn’t too invasive a question, if so I apologize and you can feel free skip this one! 2) Do Tamarack’s parents show up in any base free moment or are they only available to see in paid DLC in Step 2? 3) When asked on tumblr how Step 1 Tamarack views and handles her crush, you answered something along the lines of being more whimsical in nature and acting like she’s in a romance movie where love is magical, and generally being happy she could like someone so much in addition to being more direct in her display of preference and approach with standing up for the MC more and giggling/cheering over what they do. You’ve talked at length about how Tamarack in Step 2 doesn’t believe the MC could ever return her feelings, but not so much about her feelings towards them. So I was wondering about any insights into Step 2 Tamarack’s crush? How she views it, how she handles it, her approach if any considering her newfound shyness and insecurities, etc. 4) I know I’m known as the Tamarack girl here, but for the Qiu people—in the same vein as my third question, but about Qiu! I know in the tumblr ask, it was mentioned that Step 1 Qiu aims for charming and impressing the MC and trying to place high on the MC’s regard but what say Step 2 Qiu?

hi, the questions are more about teen mc: 1. will there be options for mc to struggle with things like ed (ik it's a sensitive topic, i'm just curious as it's smth many teens go through, so I was wondering if there'd be options that allow for struggles such as ed or even depression etc), and how do u think qiu/tamarack would react to realising mc's struggles? 2. will step 2 go more in depth about potential rifts when it comes to opal and mc? like, you can pick to have a more strained relationship with opal, but with mc being a more reactive teen, will there be instances where mc runs away/maybe even gets kicked out? also, would we ever see opal get angry at mc, since as of right now she's just been understanding.

hello gb and david! this is my first time subbing to the patreon + joining the q&a so i'm quite excited for the experience :D i played through the latest olnf free demo recently after a long time and was thrilled to see the amount of side characters we have for this game! a lot of them have captivated my heart and i wanted to get to know more about them! i apologize for the slightly lengthy questions ahead. thank you so much for hosting these q&as and i hope the spring season treats you both well. 🌸 1. was vianca in the same ballet class of qiu's that we could attend in the fancy fun moment from step 1? i'm curious to know how long she and qiu's little rivalry has been going on. was it a long-time thing brought about by the environment surrounding them growing up or did it just start post-nutcracker/step 2 when qiu started caring less and vianca started getting cross about it? 2. ren's transition journey throughout the game really piqued my interest. was her attitude towards us in step 1 partly because of her own struggles with gender identity or was it purely just normal kid stuff of "boys not wanting to play with girls"? and regarding her transition, was there a significant moment in ren's life that drew her to that realization of her gender identity later on or was it something that she's been dealing with in the background of her life that she only got to comfortably address once she got older? (if this specific question will be answered in-game, please feel free to not include it!)

Are drastic haircut changes (like going from short to long or long to short, or like, dying the hair) going to add dialogue (like hats do ?) I hope you all are doing good, I’ve binged almost all the Q&A’s and I’ve enjoyed listening! 1. what kind of romance dynamics do you like seeing if you do enjoy romance elements. since both the our life’s games have romance as an option I’ve been curious if certain choices/ tropes have been included because of personal preference on what’s fun to write/see. 2. silly question, what do tamarack and qui do on their phones? are they into things like online reading? game apps? youtube? it doesn’t have to be really accurate to the 2014 timeline I’m not quite sure what was happening/possible online then either haha. 3. you’ve mentioned loving the comical side of our life, so is there a favorite type of bit (a running joke/humor in general) you like adding? ex: honorable mention of the most obvious one with qui dropping their papers and pretending they never lose them. 4. though hong and yi aren’t main focus characters, i do like hearing about them. what do they think of MC during step 2 if they’re best friends/crushes with qui. I imagine they like inviting MC over all the time to get the chance to potentially see/connect with their kid more?

In a scenario where the MC has a crush on Tammy, would there be a difference in how she handles her feelings compared to the Tamarack we have now? In N&F, if you come out as trans during the step 2 prologue, how DOES baxter end up hearing about it before you talk to him? Also, why was Tamarack afraid of calling her parents alone before school starts? Is it just general anxiety or was there something specific she was afraid they'd bring up or say?

I know that they are in southern California and central-western Oregon respectfully, but I was wondering if there are more details surrounding the inspirations for the locations of the Our Life series. 2. In step 2 of the OLNF demo, it showcases Tamarack having glasses and contacts. Since she didn't have any in step 1, I was wondering when did Tamarack start to wear corrective lenses and what refractive condition does she has?

Are Tamarack's parents zesty enough to "do a simultaneous backflip and clap hands upon landing" when it is revealed that mc and tamarack like each other? It is a very serious and important question, you see. We must be informed of any possible acrobatic reactions that could occur. Such acrobatics could already be suspected from Ms. Lin, would the situation involve Qiu instead, but Tammy's parents are elusive, yet to be detected. And so, we must know :P

okokok, so my questions are honestly random but all things I’ve thought for one reason or another. 1. If an MC wanted to pursue the idol industry as a job, they’d have to go to training for a long period of time, maybe years, and also once they debut, be very careful about how much they share, especially romantic life wise. How would the LI’s like- deal with this stuff? 2. Does the dance hall in OL2 have a competition team? I just think it’d be fun for my own headcanons of my MC that they’re on the team and even take their friends or LI to competitions some weekends, or even nationals in the summer which is usually a week long. 3. Specifically in OL2 step 2, since it takes place fall 2014, are there any music releases that year Qiu and Tamarak would like?
