OL2: The Voiced Names List
Hey! I'm now able to share what should be the finalized voiced name list for OL2. It's 1,657 options in total, haha. I hope everybody finds a name that works for them!
Our Life: Now & Forever Voiced Name List
Though, there is still a chance there will be small changes to the list. If a backer forgot to submit a name or really needs to change the name they picked, I'll update the info.
And here's some quick notes on the voiced name system in general:
Only Tamarack and Qiu will have voice lines for these names, no side character will. But they will be voiced by the two leads in all four Steps!
It's possible to spell a name differently in the game while using voice files for it. If you want to turn "Franky" into "Frankie", that's totally doable.
These names were chosen by backers of the OL2 Kickstarter. We're not not able to accept new names at this point in development.
You can only voice your first name. If you have a nickname, you can't pick a voiced name for it even if your nickname is on this list.

Crap only two of my four mcs have name options here 😭 that’s fine though lmao
Can't wait for this to be out. Going to make a character called Tessa Elliot, and she'll have a happier ending than her namesake 🖤(should anyone get this reference, I like you😊)
I'm happily surprised to see my name in there! So excited to hear it in the game! 😆
ACACIA?!! GOD BLESS WHICHEVER BACKER SUBMITTED THIS NAME!!! I use this for my MC in all my games and to see it be a voiced option… I could cry 🥹 It’s such a beautiful name and perfect for this specific game 🧡🧡🧡
Aww, my character’s name didn’t make the list, only the Jayden version. But if I got it right, I can still name him Jaden and use the voiced Jayden option, since it sounds the same anyway. That’s awesome. And the name list is huge. I love it. I had no idea there was a Kickstarter. I would’ve thrown my whole wallet at it. Well, I don’t even have a wallet, but I would’ve bought one just for that. I really love your games. GB Patch Games is the only one I support outside Steam. The first Our Life absolutely destroyed me in the best possible way. I’ve never laughed and cried that hard at a game, and I’ve played a lot of games. You bond with the characters so deeply. And even though Now and Forever isn’t fully finished yet, I’m already so attached to everyone. GB Patch just writes their characters perfectly every time.
If you're clever about it you can get around the no voiced names as nicknames limitation by picking the voiced name you want to hear, changing the spelling of it to the given first name you want, and picking the voiced name as your nickname. I will be using the voiced name Vi and changing the spelling to Violet and setting the in-game nickname to Vi to achieve the desired effect! Since only Qiu and Tamarack voice your name so long as you have them both set to call you by your nickname in the "Your Details" section in-game it should work properly in the final game! This is also helpful if you want to roleplay as someone that goes by their middle name or something like that like I do irl :)
I'm so hype right now!! My main character's name is Ashton and it's on there!!! There is also names close enough for my other characters too! 🥹
Is there an option to have Niko also spelled as Nico?
Yes, you can change the spelling and keep the pronounciation
Aw, there's a Sayang but no Saya
I'm so happy the name Avery is included in this! I'm excited to hear mine!!!
LETS GOOO ALL 4 OF MY NAMES R HERE
Thats' way more than i was expecting o_o
eheheh im so excited to hear mine 😚😚
I weep over having missed the kickstarter, especially because of this ;; I wanted my own name to be here so bad, but there are others for alt characters im happy to see.. BUT I do now have a question. While Katrina isnt on the list, Kathrina is - But in the pronunciation note it says Katrina? Is there a misspelling? I tried to check the link but its been removed. Either way, its so very cool that you do this for these games GB, it makes scenes feel extra special and touching. I know it takes a ton of work to record and impliment, so i hope you and the VAs know and feel that that work is apreciated. ♡
I'm sorry, I can't say for certain. It's up to the backer what pronunciation they want. That's something we'd work out with them.
ah so close, a version of my character's name is on here but not the one I have currently, guess I'll have to replay the game when the time comes just for that full voice name experience, it's a little disappointing the nicknames aren't gonna get this treatment but if that is the case wouldn't it be easier to just take them out of the equation so to speak cause it feels like nicknames are gonna be rendered kinda pointless
Not everyone is going to have a voiced name they want to use, or will care about this feature in general. I wouldn't take nicknames away from those players. Plus, there's going to be voiced nickname options that will be more universal and so players who have a voiced name might still want the leads to use both their first name and their nickname. The nicknames are important for giving everyone more of a chance to have at least something be voiced.
So amazing! My in-game name, my real-life name and the real-life name from my boyfriend are all on the list! That's so crazy – thanks to all the backers🫶🏻😍🥳♥️✨
Love the variety of names! :D So happy that you put so much time, love, and care into this game! Do you think there'll be a point in development later on that you might be able to add a few more names or different name pronunciations?
No, I'm sorry. This is already more than we expected, aha. We can't expand it more.
Hii I had Julia as my first choice named which is there on the list, but it is pronounced differently than what I had in the survey. Could it be added?
Hey, I'm sorry. Can you send us a message on the Kickstarter about this so we can see your account details there?
Wow!!! SO MANY NAMES! That's amazing!!! And great ones too! People chose well!
I love how when I played OL:BA I was just transitioning and I picked my first chosen name from that games list, and my new name is now on this list too. It’s just cool to see 💚
Ah well, no Koyuki but at least Yuki is there! (I did spy my IRL name there too, so that made me happy ;w;)
What if my character’s name is Laurence, and his nickname is Laurie, can i use Laurie as the voiced name file?
No, the nicknames have a separate system. For nicknames, instead of drawing from this list there will be another list of things like "buddy", "pal", "dude", "sweetheart", etc. It's not fair to focus everything on backer chosen names and it'd be too complicated to have the nickname options plus the list of voiced first names.
There's a couple of names that was on my list, so I'm just happy that they are there (with so many people going for the voiced MC names, there's still a chance that people are going to have a list that doesn't share any of the names you've put on your own list of possible names).
Im so happy my name is in here omg 😭❤️
Yay! The name Willow I asked for is there!
Well done on all the names that got on there! Also quick question, will we be able to pick voiced pet name(s) if we are in a relationship with one of them in later steps?
Yes!
Thats a whole lotta names
Yay, my name is there! 🥳 I kind of knew it would be. It's pretty basic, but it's still cool to see it there! 🙌🏽❤️💕
Yeeesssssss!!!! My name made it on the list! Wooooooo! I'm still bummed I missed the kickstarter but at least my name is on there :3
My name is in ! *Wag tail*
I'm so happy my name is there even thought it's starts with K not C it sounds the same so I don't care 💕
God damn, my real name is actually in there :0
As a person with a name that’s really hard to pronounce for foreigners even seeing an English version of it makes me so happy. I can’t wait to make one of my mc’s with my name that’s actually voiced! :DD
What’s funny is I use the placeholder name Franky but spell it Frankie 😂 short for Francine. So I’m always covered. I love that you guys include voiced names! 💕
Was this exclusively for Kickstarter?
Yeah, these names were from KS backer.
Whooo I see my name yay :,) so excited
I was so happy lumine was set as a voiced name omg!!
I see Both my names and the names I picked for my main MCs🥰🥰🥰. I’m excited to hear them thank you🥰
woah..... there's so many omg I can play as multiple mcs with voices lines >:D
I MADE THE CUT LETS GOOO 😭🔥
Aw man, can't get my name in at the moment :[
It's times like this I love that I have one of the most basic names ever
Ilse please 🙏 😭😭😭😭🫠
I'm sorry, we can't add it.
My name 🥺🥰💕✨️
multiple MCs finally came in clutch 😌
doing the DiCaprio pointing meme as I see Chalk and Tyra in the list. the two names I submitted :D
Seeing "Guy" and "Opal" as options is the funniest thing to me for some reason. But I absolutely love this list!!!! It's got a wide variety (and has a lot of names that I gave my OCs)
crossing my fingers in hope that a backer adds barbie🙏 (bee is cute and close enough imo)
I'm honestly surprised Haru was not submitted since there's at least Haruna. Shoot, gotta figure out another name set for my MC. Glad though that at least my other MC's name is on here
Dang. I didnt know backers can input a name.... it must be too late to put in Marx isnt it
Yeah, I'm sorry!
My name is on here !!! Woohoo !! I was a big sad it wasn't in beginnings and always but now I'm so happy !!! Thank you everyone for your amazing work
1.6k names is insane lol, I'm really happy so many people backed and that so many names will be accessible to players but I can't imagine being one of the VAs haha
So happy to see my mcs name here, thanks to whoever asked for it🙏
Seeing my name on here makes me overjoyed 🥹. I only transitioned with this name recently, so being able to hear someone say it aloud will be so validating 💕
Gray mentioned!!! (sort of in a way)
Woo! My name is included in OL2 as well. Thank you to those who supported 🥹✨
i’m so excited to use these! i missed the opportunity to back this tier so thank you, backers! 🩷
Im so glad my name has been in both voiced lists for OL1 and 2 😋
So If you start as one name but you change your name in a later step, would the changed name still be voiced if it's on the list?
Yep. You can change your name and the voice track for it in each Step if you want to.
seeing a name similar to the name my fav mc uses is cool! ^_^ + the list is great for people who don't know what to name their mcs yet :P
Did someone really ask for "disregard the 5th pronunciation" or did I just read that wrong? 😂 I'm also giggling at Dunno. Like, no disrespect if it's literally a name in other cultures, but as a purely English speaker, it's wild.
That's just an error!
One of my characters hasn’t gotten their name voiced, but my name for a wonderfull surprise got one! Hahahah I’ll take what I can get
I never use my real name in a game but seeing something similar to it in the list made me so happy!! ^•^
Yippee! I've been using Amber
I'm somewhat confused on why a nickname can't be voiced if it is on the name list. Is it a gameplay limitation that prevents it? I was hoping to start going by my nickname in later steps, so would it be better to change my first name to match my chosen nickname? Will any characters acknowledge that my name has changed? As always, thank you for your hard work on the game! Can't wait for the new beta to drop!! ^-^
The nicknames have a separate system. For nicknames, instead of drawing from this list there will be another list of things like "buddy", "pal", "dude", "sweetheart", etc. It's not fair to focus everything on backer chosen names and it'd be too complicated to have the nickname options plus the list of voiced first names. You can change your name at the start of each Steps, the characters will acknowledge if you do!
rooks on the liiiiist yay 🫶
im so happy my name is in there i was so worried 😭💓
AHHH MY NAME IS IN THE LIST 🙇🏻✨‼️
Omg wait Ami’s the name of my OLBA mc!!! My beloved boy 😭😭😭
Looks like i need to change my mc's name lol
"You can only voice your first name. If you have a nickname, you can't pick a voiced name for it even if your nickname is on this list". I'm sorry, I'm not understanding this. Then if Qiu only calls me by nickname, they will never say my name? Or will they just say my full name?
I'm confused too
WOO i cant believe mine made it in!
man i really wish i coulda gotten to be a backer now
You all are absolutely incredible including all these names and pronunciations WOW
My name not in there but that’s okay 🫡 I will use Marie as an alternate. ❤️❤️
Over a thousand? That's an absurd amount!
IMA BE ABLE TO HEAR MY NAME IN A GAME?!!! ❤️❤️🥳
We can change the spelling for the name? Yay!!! 🥳
