OL2: Step 2 Prologue Screenshots
Now that there's some finished school backgrounds, we can share some proper school screenshots. We revealed through a script preview that it's random whether a lead is in your homeroom or not. And it turns out, them having a nearby locker is also randomly determined!
This shows a happy outcome where both Tamarack and Qiu have lockers in the same row as the MC. However, that might not be how it goes in your playthrough.

I missed the preview, I rolled **so many times** to get the homerooms back with me like they were in the play before I loaded it again, it kept trying to kick them out of Murray's with me 😭
Tamarack ended up as my MCs locker neighbour while Qiu wasn't even close in my game file. Ah well, my MC can still visit them! ;w;

Hmmm, that's definitely cool that it can be randomized, but I'd love it if you had an option to pre-choose their lockers too (like a toggle). Otherwise I know I'm just going to be replaying it over and over until I get the arrangement I want, which just sounds frustrating 😂and I'm sure I won't be the only one doing it.
I'm afraid there likely won't be any way to make it non-random. Sorry for that!

i have kind of a dumb question lol but im seeing people talking about playing through it in the comments and im confused, is there an update i can download to play it through? or is it for a higher tier? im tier 3 i think if that helps. no problem if it is for a higher tier, im just unsure where i can update it if i can play it through? thank you!!
Updated betas come out near the end of each month usually, the most recent was on the 29th. I'm pretty sure I'm tier 3 as well, so you should be able to see the post ^^

That's so cool! I will definitely enjoy this and rerolling even if not really fair, but I want to do Crush on Qiu but no in the same class (with Tam in the same class) but with the locker close to Qiu. This way it's more "angsty" for my teen self and Qiu XD
I have 3 characters I play as so I can see the most content, and all 3 of them didn't get either of them as locker buddies 😭 how far back do we have to reset to get a reroll, as it were?
I think you don't have to? I mean this is speaking for the classroom part because I genuinely don't remember seeing the locker part if it's in the beta build. However I believe the two work the same way. When I received my random class Tam wasn't in class with me but Qiu was (I think) and saved right there, when I reloaded that scene despite the save showed the dialogue where Qiu was in my class in the save, when I clicked it the dialogue was Qiu being mad they were in a different class from mine. So I don't think you have to roll back/save before the "announcement" to save scum as long as it is where it gets assigned, it always randomize even if they said "we are in class together". I don't know if it makes sense, I would show a video but you can't share them in comments I think, I don't see a option for it. However even if you save as SOON as Qiu or Tam say "we are in the same class!" And reload from that line, it will change. It did this to me, so I assume that work for the locker assignment too.
Knowing my luck I'll probably have to reset.

As much as I pretend to cry endlessly about being split apart from Q or T, I DO really love how random it is. Really gives me the memories of being an actual teenager and waiting to find out if I got to be with any of my friends or not.

That's really cool that it's randomized. Does it randomize at the start of the story, step, or line though. Cause with my luck I'm never gonna be with any of them
It is rolled right before it happens. But you can't scroll back and get a new result. You have to load a save file from before it happened and playthrough again.
Usually my headcanon for the random moments is the first time I see it that’s how it plays out for that MC. For my main girl she got Qiu and Tamarack in her homeroom and as her locker neighbours. That’s her life goal tbh

I will keep a save for my first mc so we all three can be in the same homeroom.:D but i did not get close lockers with Tamarack but i did with Qiu

A scene I won't be seeing because Tamarack is my locker neighbor that I share homeroom with in my main save jnfdkjfn and I didn't even have to try multiple times to get that outcome, we're both bound by fate in this game. But maybe in a different playthrough I'll get this outcome. School hallway looks great!

it seems be always random but you can save and reload when Qiu asks you what class you got
Qiu must hate me because all three playthroughs in the beta had them at a different locker LMAOOO THATS SUCH A CUTE DIALOGUE PART TO SEE! And the background looks SO good
