OL2: Beta Build 1.4.15-6 💓 (PC, Mac, Android)

Hey! The end of the final Moment is here, plus the first few scenes of the Fall Ended section. After how the last beta left off, this is more forgiving, haha. But forgiveness is a fitting notion. To make things sad again, there's very few fun scenes left with the Step 1 versions of the cast 😭
Also, Shawna updated the engine version the game is running on, so there may or may not be small errors due to that change. This is the first time we're beta testing OL: NF on this more recent version of Ren'Py.

Hey! Not a big deal at all but during the scene where Qiu comes back in to confront your mother, the sprites overlap so you cant see the mom. (and then his sprite yeets away not to be seen again. (Had a great laugh lol) but I think that might be a bug :) Also the character sprite for MC had all their outdoor stuff on despite the options remaining unclicked. I'm not sure if it's a glitch, but the part where Mom comes back home and you're in your room, and you have the option to tell Qiu and Tamarack to leave - I had them leave, but after only a few lines, they just randomly came back, as if they hadn't been told to leave? I'm not sure what happened there, and their character sprites were all overlapping each other too.
Thanks for the report! I'll check my sprite placement for those. Maybe I missed flags to check if they're still around or not.
On Sunday, for my android, I downloaded it through Dropbox, (the .16 version) but it can't install it. It says "permanent failure" I tried again today, just in case, but still the same problem. I'm so excited to play this when I can get it to work! I love this game so much! Thank you so much for your hard work! ❤️
I'm sorry! Could you try clearing more space for the build and deleting any older versions of the beta you might have? It seems like an issue of getting onto the android rather than something within the build itself that's the problem.

Okay so, when Tamarack and Qiu comes to check on you and you don't let them in. There are still text that implies that they are there when you talk with your mother when she comes home. It also happens more then once. And on a connected note, how come everyone gets invited out to eat even if it was only you and your mother there? It really feels off when you can go the entire day being upset that you did not get to spend alone time with her, avoid everyone else and then when it gets resolved you still don't get to spend time with her alone anyway. Was it meant to be like this??

And I guess to forgot to include versions without them there or it could be they're included by the code because you'd already invited them to be there for you. Either way, you can't have only one neighbor come.
When Qiu and Tamarack are looking around your house, there's an error where it seems two lines got meshed together. The lines for if you like your house vs if you dislike it.

I have this weird problem that the game won't let me start a new playthrough :( Every time I finish the character creation it suddenly backpedals back to the beginning. Same thing with my old saves; after a while getting ahead in the story the game suddenly backpedals back to my ld save point. Has anyone else have had the same problem?

Love the new content! The conversation with Opal has got to be one of my favorite moments in either Our Life game. I hardly ever cry when it comes to games or movies but it had tears welling up in my eyes. Excited to see what Step Two brings!

I clicked on the earlier download, but I got the 1.4.16 version instead. I'm glad I ended up with the version that was supposed to be released. 😃 All the same, I don't know if what I've downloaded really is the 1.4.16 version, considering Fall Ended would be incredibly short if there was 1/3 of the epilogue of Step 1. I was able to walk with Tamarack on her scooter and Qiu walking alongside his bike, and we discussed what we'd like to do together, including talking about buying the winter coats (and gloves, remembering about the pictures posted a while ago 😊). But that was about it until the 'Thank you for playing' card came up. Was there supposed to be more?

There's another exception error moment that happened for me at the diner after Opal tells MC, Tamarack, and Qiu that she'll pay for their drinks. I was able to finish the rest of the moment without issues.

Are you playing version 1.4.15? That had an error. You can download the build again to have a fixed version.
So if Step 1 is finished I assume all updates going forward will be focused on Step 2 then? you know aside from working out any bugs people mentioned in Step 1

It had an ignore button, so i think it skips that particular dialogue but you can play the remaining ones with that
