OL2: Beta Build 1.4.14 🚪 (PC, Mac, Android)

I really love OL2 beta! I moved around a lot as a child, but I never had the chance to meet someone like Q/T, so I'm grateful that OL2 allowed me to experience a different life. I really enjoy Hide and Seek, cause it helps me understand myself better, even though it's not as pleasant as other Moments. Because I moved around so much, I often feel uneasy, anxious and uncertain about my surroundings lacking a sense of control. Since I never knew what was coming next, as a child, I could be thrown into a new environment at any time, having to adapt to new relationships, schools and environments while adults around me couldn't always take care of me. And everyone else in the new environment already has their own groups. Trying to fit in would only make things more awkward. So just like Tamarack, I also felt more like a visitor. T and my MC share many similarities, especially since she had just arrived too which made me feel less abandoned. And Qiu, a very popular local with high EQ who happens to be my crush who helped ease my anxiety significantly by mediating. Both of them matter a lot to me. So when they argued with each other, I didn't want to choose especially when one was my best friend and the other was my crush. Losing either one of them was absolutely unacceptable for me. So when the conflict reached its peak, when T made it clear she wouldn't accept any compromise, my MC panicked and ran away. This feeling is incredibly real yet I loved it very much. But I also loved how it ends. When the three of us embraced, I felt a sense of security and a part of me has been healed. Even though we argue, our friendship isn't that fragile. As long as you're with someone important to you, conflicts can also become precious memories. I'm not a native speaker so please forgive me if some words don't quite convey what they're supposed to mean. In summary, thank you for making such a wonderful game.

Home hit me really hard as a daughter of divorced parents. My mother had sole custody and left for work at 4am every morning, so I was responsible for getting up and getting to school on time since second grade, when I graduated out of the "Real Kids Club". Keep up the good work.

I noticed that there isn't any nonverbal options for only wanting to go over to QIu or Tamarack's temporarily. You can say out loud that you'll go with them only until Opal gets home but all the nonverbal options are about staying there forever.

Don't know if this has been reported yet, but I think there's something wrong with Home's bgm? There was like two music playing at the same time I think, but it stopped doing that around hobby room scene

Spoilers for those that haven't played it yet below!! This is so sweet so far!! I'm excited to see what activity/talk we'll have with our mom, depending on what emotion we felt initially/through the moment! I also LOVED the (grand)parents' reactions to us claiming to get married to either Tamarack/Qiu 🤣🥺💕 Tamarack's response was so adorable it almost gave me a heart attack 😫💓 Kind of wish we could've given something to Tamarack as well, while classic Qiu was willing to provide us their jacket 🥺 and us giving them an umbrella. But we love our self-sufficient queen of the forest!! 🤩 And omggg, when Qiu cried for us when we expressed our troubles?? I teared up AGAIN. They're so sweet, it hurts 😭 Their empathy and ability to understand us a bit with our situation? Whether it's being alone/not having a parent/dealing with a lot, makes me wonder what they had to shoulder. Especially with the "being alone" part, even though they have so many friends. Hoping we dive deeper into that a bit 🥹

Replaying the beta right now because of this update and I'm already loving the new stuff but I did come across a thing, in the home moment when the mc goes into class I got a page with red text on the bottom? The text looks to be an error message regarding an asset of one of Tamaracks expressions. The full message is: image 'tam -bsg r_down -umbrella large -scarf step1 l_up nervous_mouth smug_eyes ssm_brows' not found, hopefully I copied that well and hope this helps. Thank you for making this wonderful game!

Found a small typo where one of the choices reads "All you wanted was to spend more time with TamarackQiu." It appears regardless of previous choices, provided you get to that choice (you have to ask to stay at either Qiu or Tamarack's home, or ask to play at their houses. It doesn't happen if you choose a move in/stay forever option).

Hi! Having a lot of fun with the beta and all the different options it has, but I did run into the "An exception has occurred" error page not long after the scene where MC and Tamarack go into her grandparents' room starts. It's been a while since I've run into one of these and can't recall if this is just a hiccup on my end (I did already uninstall and reinstall the beta and that didn't work, even moved the save from my phone to see if the same error happens on my laptop and it does). Or if this is an actual error in the beta that I've fumbled my way into. I can copy/paste the full error code thing if necessary for further information. If it's not an easy fix anyway.

This may be the single most upsetting Our Life moment of all for me, so far, but it's really interesting! I still wish the MC could run away but NOT to school, though I understand how it wouldn't work narratively in this case (cause Opal, in these circumstances, would have been informed and looked for them instead of going to work for sure). It's still hard to handle that kind of "betrayal" from a parent though, with the education I had and my own relationship with my mother though. I also really like how, at seeing MC that upset, Qiu figures this is why my MC wished for another parent back in Magic. This was such a cool throwback. What's even more interesting is that I guess this is sort of half-true on my playthrough. On one hand well yeah, it is sort of true, on the other hand, back then specifically my MC did it simply because he was unhappy with only one parent. But having two would have indeed solved at least some of the issues of that awful day he's spending in Home. So in a sense, the realization this is yet another reason to mourn the lack of two parents only came now.

This moment might end up being one of my favorites!! Tam and Qiu are soooo thoughtful. Regarding the dialogue, there seems to be a slight mistake where if you chose "Can I stay with you until my [Mom] comes home, Qiu?", one of the next options is about wanting to spend more time with Tamarack instead of Qiu. Anyway, thank you for the update!

It was another way your mama's choice kept her from you" just hit so hard in the gut, as someone who grew up with similarly busy parents :'] I think this is the first time one of the steps has come close to making me cry

Unsure if this is just a me issue but when I try to load saves made in this new moment to test different choices it freezes and then if I try to close the game my whole screen starts flashing black

Hearing that a moment was so big and awesome it needs to be released is 3 parts def makes me happy rather than any kind of negative feeling. 😁
