OL2: Color Selection Preview
Woo, look at that! Shawna, our lead programmer, is working on a total remake of the MC Doll customization screen. It has a bunch of new features that we'll be sharing over the next few months.
This video shows how you'll eventually be able to choose any color you want for any part of the doll. You can even just type in a hex code to get the exact shade you're after. And once you have picked out a color, you can give it a name so it gets described in the script and save it for future playthroughs in the "Custom Colors" section ✨

Actually I am curious, is it possible to have a hue, saturation and brightness bars alongside just having the whole color wheel? just because I can be meticulous about colours and tend to do that when making art

Loving that there's still the "base" colors you can pick from and then adjust it from there with the new sliders. Being able to name the colors too will be nice! The new character creator set up in general is looking really good
This is brilliant, I can already tell I'm gonna spend a lot of time tweaking my colors to be just perfect.
Question: 🙋♀️ Will a named custom color be available to choose during the fav colors convo in Step 1?
I'm afraid not. The choice menu wouldn't be able to handle possibly a dozen more options if people use all their custom slots.

WOAH THIS LOOKS AMAZING!?!?!? HOW EXCITING JUST SEEING IT ALL IN ACTION HAS ME SO SO HYPED!!! This is really some of the best customization I have ever personally seen in a visual novel game before!! And it looks so aesthetically pleasing too!! I am curious though! Is it known when this feature will be added to the game?

I love it. ❤️ How do we look up the hex code for the shades we want? Is there going be a reference for us to be able to decide? I.e. such-and-such hex code is lavender, silver, crimson, etc.?
You have to have the hex code you want already from reading it off a list online or using an image editor or something. Or you can click around the color box to find a shade that works for you.
Ohhh this is actually brilliant. It's helpful since favourite colors come up and color of clothes or rather our hair color is actually pointed out at some point in the demo...so yeah, thank you for going into detail on that! :)
GREAT IDEA!!! i've just been using glitches in the current colour system to gain more saturation or hue for my colours. this'll be way easier than that! 👍

This is amazing!! This changes so much in such a fun way!! I already really liked how much control over colors we had, but this is next level. I can’t wait to see how this works in game and AUGH THE CUSTOM COLOR SAVE SLOTS!!! THERES SO MANY /VVVPOS!! I’m so excited for this, Shawna is amazing 🫶

This looks great! I’m curious how it’ll connect to the MC sharing hair/eye colours with Opal- right now that colour is tintable, I’m hoping as things develop it’ll still be possible to have the game recognise a similarity but be able to tweak it too. I’m excited to see where things go from here!
I had it confirmed to me that you'll be able to tweak the shade and have it still be noted as cranberry as long as you name the color cranberry still!

Does the hair and eye color getting the "just like your mom" tag need to be an exact match or is it like a range? Like. If I wanted the same redish eyes and hair but a slightly different shade will it still count as being just like her?
...what if you dye it in later stages to match? 👀

I was expecting improvements but this amount of depth is absolutely mind blowing! props to shawna for working this out and to you for deciding to implement it. I think ol2 is easily the most customizable game in this genre that I've seen. the end product is definitely going to be something special.
