Ella Enchanted Review
Behold the original end of Enchantuary as Anne Hathaway is compelled to do whatever she's told. And no, that's not as interesting as you think it would be.

Here's how I'd interpret Ella's "gift". With Ella's gift, she can instantly make any command she's given come true, and I mean ANY command. From telling her to stop an earthquake to telling her to gain superpowers, this gift makes her a bit of a genie. However, unlike any other Genie, her gift comes with a bit of a drawback. In order for the command to be fully effective, the commander must love and respect her and earn her love and respect in return. If the commander hates her or just hasn't earned her respect, the command will backfire, for better or worse (keep that last part in mind). So basically, Ella could be Earth's angel or destruction. It just depends on who the user is. And yes, the command also has to be specific in order to fully work. If you want her to go to sleep, but you tell her to hit the sack, she'll literally hit the sack that's closest to her. If you correct your command by specifying it, in this case by specifically telling her to go to sleep, that's when the command will work, if both of you love and respect each other, of course. Finally, the only commands that are inaccessible is "Ella, you are no longer cursed", and any other command related to it. Lucinda made the gift work like this so that not only could her peers around her learn a lesson of love and respect, but Ella could also learn to stick with the right people, because not EVERYONE would learn to love and respect her and instead use her for their own gain.
So Ella could have undone her curse at any time. Isn't it wonderful when a movie tells you a character conflict was pointless.
Look Bob and Raven I don't relate to your hate for Cruella 2021 because I eneded uo liking it and enjoying it when I saw it in a cinema in England here years ago.
The prince is called Char? Does he have the Decepticon base in his kingdom? :D Also, Cary Elves should always be played Elves... Elfs... no? Logical. :D
The word "Ogre" literally means "Man-eating Giant" so... yeah, OF COURSE they are oppressed in a HUMAN kingdom. They can count their blessings they are not exterminated on sight, when they eat Humans as part of their nature.
Eric Idle narrates this? I didn't recognize his voice... Also, yeah, Elf before Tolkein reinvented them, was just the go-to name for fairy, fey, etc. Aka small woodland spirit.
I remember this one, maaan this gift is one horrible curse. Hags in D&D would be going "whoa, this is pure evil" about Vivica-Fox-Fairy's spell. Gotta say though agreed, everyone would easily find out about this since they would see her obeying every command.
if Raven's that averse to Monty Python... then you could have used a clip from "Night of the Lepus" for the bunny aattack joke
Happy 40th birthday Bobsheaux!
This feels like their weird version of shrek, descendants, kind of adding in modern stuff too, and that's it. It's cool they made the story but why did they put a weird little spin on it. Do you think the book is better than the movie? Did the fairy not think about how horrible the wish would work. She can't disobey any order at all. Imagine this was a rated r movie. That would be awful and imagine the crap she would go through.
