Audio Recording for Ep. 14

Hi folks,

This is as much as I'm willing / able to include for the next episode. I've gotta be honest; I think I have actually fully burned out lol. All the symptoms are there: Fatigue. Zero enthusiasm. Low / stand-off-ish mood. I feel completely and utterly out of touch with the WoW community. I'm not sure I ever really felt part of it in the first place

All I know is... I need to break the end of this series down to bitesize chunks in order to even ensure I can finish it and then I need to really take some time to figure out if I can keep doing this

Not to sound too dramatic but... I don't think 'art' comes for free. I think it takes a little piece of you every time. And eventually... there's no pieces left. It wears you down eventually

I'm not sure if it's a 'recharge the battery' situation or if it's a 'time to call it a day' situation. I hope it's not the latter but I have just felt like I've been up against it this entire series and I'm exhausted

So yeah - I will grab the footage for this episode at a leisurely pace and the video will be ready when it's ready. I wish I could be a little bit more specific but I can't - Soz mates

As someone whose dog ripped up the book before getting the chance to read it, I appreciate the work in putting this together. Hopefully it helps to make a bit more sense of the Shadowlands? I felt it was one of the best starts to an expansion, but quickly devolved as the story seemed a mile wide and an inch deep. Really just a big mistake to have us go there, unless they have a better explanation going forward.

There are some good ideas in there and, as others have put it; the art and music teams did great work. But yeah - the story is a mess. So much reliance on infodumps up top to deliver rather lacklustre conclusions. Probably the worst the game has been at dragging things out as well - it feels like random nonsense designed to pass the time until the next patch where we receive even more random nonsense

Hope you're doing well my man. I think you've earned some time to recharge and relax a little, the book is almost done. I think it's also hard when the subject material you're putting into the video also couldn't care less either. Shadowlands has, to this day, continued to open more lore problems into the story because they wanted this to be the "End of phase 1" of WoW. Dragonflight onwards is supposed to be "phase 2" I guess. Just remember that we all appreciate the work you're putting into all of this, and that your own mental health is important as well. What you've created so far is nothing short of an accomplishment, and it's certainly gotten more people involved in the lore of the game in one way or another. Watching the Tides of Darkness supercut made me appreciate the "old world" alot more from a kid that started with Warcraft 3.

Cheers mate. Yeah - I always felt weird about Steve Danuser boldly claiming that this was the end of Phase 1. As if Legion hadn't already been a much more natural end to Phase 1 and they really should've been spending the time since cooking up something new. There were a couple of times where it really felt like he was straight-up trying to copy the MCU without bothering to earn those moments. The Sigils. The 'people arriving through portals' moment at the end of Dragonflight. I'm surprised no one outright said "On your left" during that cutscene!
