Building the Steering! and Wiring Electronics🔧

I’m another step closer to being able to drive this 1/25 scale 69 Chevelle! In today's video, I get all of the electronics I'll be using wired, as well as complete the steering system. Like with everything else on this car, I did the best I could to maintain as life-like an appearance as possible, while making everything functional. The end result is about as good as I could have hoped for, and it won't be long now before this car will be ready for the first test drive!

For any fellow builders, I have added the idler arm piece that I designed in this video to the previous parts pack, which contained all of the front suspension and steering parts. That post can be found here.

I used a 1x10mm double pin to connect each tie rod end, and an assortment of M1 size hardware that I had in my stash. I also found it helpful to use some small size O-rings in between some of these parts to allow the steering to move as intended. The O-rings are really optional but I think they help make everything feel more refined and remove some of the slop. I also like to use some washers from time to time between certain components. By all means feel free to experiment and figure out what you think works best with your project, just make sure you don't over tighten the hardware as obviously things need to move. I used a little dab of super glue to make sure that the M1 nuts don't come loose.

Below is a list of all of the electronics that I'm using for this project. They are the same ones as what I used previously for that 39 Chevy coupe. These links are for reference/convenience only, and may not be the best price, nor ship to your address. As always if you have any questions, please feel free to send a message. 👍
