EARLY EPISODE: The Red Army Faction Part 2: Bring Me My Chicken
It's part 2 of our 4-part series on the Red Army Faction, in which Tom takes the lead to explain to Joe the story of 1960s German left-wing militants, their eventual downfall, and--in this episode--something you might describe as 'the world's least enthusiastic hunger striker.'

"We're not here for your money, we're here for the banks money. Your money is insured by the West German government" -- Horse (?) i guess
Love re listening to these episodes
The one single thing I remember being taught in high school that actually has value IRL was "only break one law at a time."
How dare you charge me $5 to listen to this early. Capitalist dogs!!!!
Bourgeoise C*nt in German is bürgerliche Fotze (and I feel filthy just having typed that)
okay but would this be when you're out serving but you overdressed?
I get irrationally happy whenever Tom uses perfect past-tense.
Tom, half three is not 3.30, it's 2.30. The "half "-part, kind of implies "less then" you know. 😉 I don't get why you'd ever use that am/pm bullshit anyway. So confusing and stupid. 14.30 - there you go, clear as day! 😎
ah yes am/pm is confusing but half 3 = 2:30, obviously
Ok, serious mistake. Franz Josef Strauß was a CSU politician, they have nothing to do with social democrats. It's the Bavarian version of the CDU and extrem conservatives. The kind of people, that only agree, that woman have the right to vote, if they went to church on Sundays and vote what their husbands have told them.
ah yes Lenin the famously young revolutionary
Hearing a bug died in your vape made me gag almost as much as the Khmer Rogue series did. Almost.
BTW: Bourgeois cunt I would re-translate as "Bourgeois Fotze". Fotze is pronounced with a hard F and hard Z. Its not a "zee", its a "ZETTTTT". The emphasis of Fotze is on the tz, so pronounce it as FFFo-TTTZZZeeeee. Fotze is probably as bad of a word as cunt in America.
Does the episode end cut off about 5-10 seconds short for anyone else? "Until next time, complain to your terrorist leader you can't ha-"?
Almost all the episodes I've heard so far, cuts out a few seconds too soon. Don't know why.
Driving a Mercedes to the revolution is a very Hasan energy
On there being so many orphans moving into adulthood, etc. around Germany in 1960, a lot were the kids that got abandoned because they were products of rape in the aftermath of the war. So there was some serious lot messed up psychology going on
A quick correction: Franz Josef Strauß was the leader of the Christian Social union, the Bavarian (and even more conservative) version of the Christian Democrats, not of the Social Democrats like Tom said.
Sure, but you can't tell the difference between them nowadays, so I let this slide. If there ever was a Jack Johnson vs John Jackson, its the modern SPD vs CDU/CSU.
Big Belgian-English T-1000 energy
Does the three episode dump mean something woogity has happened? Like some sort of Armenian krypteia has come for our boy
“We know you’re out of practice and don’t know how to do basically anything the Armenian army does, you’re still better at most of this than our soldiers, so it’s your turn, man.”
