EARLY EPISODE: The Battle of Wake Island
Shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor the Japanese military set their eyes on a tiny speck of a rock staffed with a handful of Marines and civilian contractors. Trapped and with no hope of relief, the strange adhoc garrison made the invaders bleed.

Hey Liam, sounds like Tobey is a perfect fit for r/OneOrangeBraincell
"Hey fellas, if we can shoot down one of them Zeroes so it crashes on the island, there might be some pep pills in there"
Toby is love, Toby is life
it is extremely rare for me to feel just unreserved respect for any part of the US military, but god damn boys, ya did it. i need to go slam a full pack of hotdogs and a case of bud light in memoriam.
What was the song used at the beginning?
Jisas Yu Holem Hand Blong Mi, it’s from the thin red line movie
Makes you wonder if ISIS was built out of a bunch of gamers
Anyone know why Liam includes "see it or screw it" on his list of other podcasts? He doesn't appear to be on it.
Listening to this one back to back with the new WTYP is amusing on an intellectual level.
Remember when the Marines were perfect himbos?
I am excited to learn more about this. I remember we stopped at Wake Island to refuel, and with little downtime, I ran into the makeshift museum and took pictures of all the placards and artifacts. So, while flying, I can read about it. I was hoping the plane would break there and I could have time to check out some of the battle scares on base… the same thing happened when we stopped in Kwajalein.
