Had to laugh at the unrealistically ridiculous amount of defenses the Soviets had built up - it just sounds like something made by a bored teenager with a whole weekend to kill and an "unlimited money" cheat code in a tower defense flash game

Sounds like Kursk was to the Soviets what Verdun was to the French: a killbox for Germans. Though I suppose many battles on the Western front could be described that way.
