It turns out the reason why the lesbian cult screamed so much was because they believed in something called "primal scream" therapy. Basically it's a therapy where the subject is made to reexpirience childhood trauma and let out their emotions through therapy.

Im on Joe's side about the Jonestown Cult. I, too, would have fallen for it as it was initially just a really racially progressive church. It was my immediate first thought when they read the question.

It's not so much a cult, but I would have enjoyed being an anchorite. These monks or nuns lived in seclusion from other people, either in secluded cottages or in a cell attached to an abbey. They tended to lead lives of devotion, though there are several noted theologians and prophets who were anchorite. They were regarded as very holy and were generally looked after by a community in terms of food, and were also allowed to have a cat. I'm an asexual, autistic cat non-binary individual. Not having to talk to anyone besides a cat sounds very, very pleasant.

I’m picturing that Talbot looks like this one English soccer fan I saw on the Brooklyn bridge that’s here for the World Cup. The dude was beat red, topless in the 32 degree sun and with a three lions tattoo on his pec.
